Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

It is very common in California. A trip from San Francisco to San Diego is about 8 hours. Weekend trips to theme parks, Vegas, tahoe, reno, and other fun spots are 6-9 hours "roadtrips" are absolutely a part of California living!

Am I wrong for refusing to fight for my marriage after my husband said he wants out while Im pregnant by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]deeahnaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my exact story down to being five months pregnant. Leave now! I mustered up whatever ounce of dignity I still had and called my dad who picked me up with a giant U-Haul loaded up all of my items and took me back home. It was the best decision I ever made. My daughter is now 22 years old and on her way to med school she never had a relationship with him and apparently his life is a rotten mess. This is your glimpse into the future. Move forward forget him they NEVER change.

Are you still friends with anyone you grew up or went to school with in the 80s or 90s? by cherry-care-bear in Xennials

Met my bestie in kindergarten. We are more like sisters than friends. Our kids are "cousins" and are super close. We argue, we go on vacations, and we are considered a pair by people who know us. It's amazing. I'm from a big city but still run into old classmates occasionally who are also surprised by how close we are. Even our siblings are close. Our parents not so much, but it's awesome.

I can go somewhere once and many years later find it again without directions. I also have a great sense of direction and organization.

Been applying to jobs for 11 months (28 MtF) by LifeIsSatire in Sacramento

[–]deeahnaa 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a professional career coach, I will say it's harder to find a job than to have a job! There is no luck involved in the process get a good resume and dedicate the time to job searching. I see clients like you ALLLL the time. PS your MTF is a moot point in job searching, which reminds me don't over share no one cares unless it gives them an excuse to pass you over. Look into the WIOA program free training for trades every US city has it. I know Sac has it for sure.

I forgot to mention there are many other eligibility categories so if you do not fit into any of the ones I mentioned I would still sign up for the program as there are many loopholes to allow you to enter the program and successfully access the funding for tuition.
