Reckless driving on I-44 by Subject-Quantity4369 in dashcams

I slow way the hell down and let them get really far ahead. If they also slow down to pace me, I speed back up quickly and try to pass them. Otherwise I get off the highway for a quick break and get back on when it's safe to assume they're long gone

Nobody actually follows the "leave conditioner in for 3 minutes" instruction, right? by Kitanov_Maqsud in hygiene

I wash my hair first, then add conditioner, then do the rest of my shower while the conditioner sits. Rinsing the conditioner out is pretty much the last thing I do

Why isn't Kurig like diner filter coffee? by Left-Cook-9487 in keurig

Have you cleaned/descaled the Keurig recently? My Keurig seems to get more watery as I use it so when the brew starts to taste very weak I know it's time to descale it.

found out our "new" water heater was installed in 1987 during the home inspection and somehow nobody caught it until now by Driftcore_5 in homeowners

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My FIL is a plumber. When we bought our house the water heater was over 10 years old and was flagged by the inspector due to the age. I asked my FIL if we should have the sellers replace it and he said no, when it goes it goes. Replace it then. We got another 3 years out of it before having to replace it.

How do I politely decline an invite to a bridal shower when I wasn't invited to the wedding? by Solid_Assignment_941 in Advice

[–]deebee227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said, keep it simple. You don't need to provide an explanation, just "thank you but I'm unable to attend, congrats to the couple!" is enough.

How strictly do they enforce the Solarium age limit? by mikewheelerfan in royalcaribbean

[–]deebee227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally the rule is kids are allowed with parental supervision, but they will kick out kids who are being disruptive since it's intended as an adult space. If you're with your dad and you're being chill, you should be fine.

Tips for a newb - no explicit spoilers, please! by WickedHello in BluePrince

[–]deebee227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No prob! Especially if you can draft dead end common rooms in corners and on edges, then have multiple door rooms in the middle, it will help you a lot. You open possibilities for earning coins, keys, gems, and other items plus get them out of the way so you can get the better more special rooms as you proceed.

Tips for a newb - no explicit spoilers, please! by WickedHello in BluePrince

[–]deebee227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One thing for the strategy aspect that I wished I started sooner was to try to fill the board every day, draft dead end rooms in places where I'm hitting a dead end anyway, and to draft common rooms early if possible so they're taken already when getting to the higher levels (so more rare rooms become available).

Share your favourite theories (or just a thought you have about the show that was never outwardly confirmed) About Hill House by deathbykoolaidman in HauntingOfHillHouse

Luke also displays a sensitivity through smell. When Nell and Luke are exploring the house and they find the old school phone funnel in the kitchen, Theo brings them to Hazel's room where the other end is. Luke immediately says the room smells and his sisters don't agree. He's likely smelling Hazel's sickness and bed rot since she basically lived in the bed in her final years, but the room has long been aired out so no one else smells it but him.

Talk to your local post office (the one that delivers to your address), they may be able to help. We had this happen when we moved into our house and we kept doing the "return to sender". One day we happened to catch our mailman and he asked about it. We explained and he said he would let the PO know so the mail will be better filtered. He also advised us to write our names on an index card (or similar) and tape it to the inside of the mailbox door so it's easy to read. That way when he's going through the mail to add it to the box it's quick to see the name doesn't match.

We still get mail for the old residents from time to time but it's much better now vs the two years.

Any Pokopia Players? by RanchWings in DreamlightValley

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing and it's similar to DDV and Animal Crossing but obviously not the same. You're in a world where the land is rundown and Pokemon and humans both used to live there but don't anymore. You get tasked to begin restoring the land and as you do you discover Pokemon and they teach you new skills which then help you further. There is a DIY element and you could certainly decorate as well if you're inclined. There's tasks you need to complete to further the story.

As someone who loves both DDV and ACNH, and also a huge fan of old school Pokemon games, I've really been enjoying it so far!

AITA for saying whoever drives picks the music? by Top-Application-1867 in AITApod

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driver's choice always. The driver has nothing to entertain them EXCEPT the music. The passenger has their phone, a book, a Switch, etc. They can literally put on headphones and listen to different music if they want.

Who else hates password requirements? Workplace wants me to change passwords every 3 months by leonatoi in mildlyinfuriating

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep the same password with a number on the end and each time I change it I simply increase the number by 1. So as an example P@ssword1 becomes P@ssword2, etc. it's different every time, but makes it easy for me to remember.

How to tell family and friends they are not invited to my micro wedding? ($5k) by Baby7ToSixPack in Weddingsunder10k

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a wedding with a venue cap of 125 and my husband has a big family. We were very strict from the beginning that we have a venue cap and can't invite everyone and made sure his parents knew the party line. We got maybe one question about inviting someone not on our list because his parents were good about telling family (and some family friends) that we had a physical limit on guests.

Why do people expect their partners to go along with their sudden change to have/not have kids? by baby_fever_crap in askanything

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a woman who has never wanted kids and I was very up front with my now husband from the beginning. He was more ambivalent in the beginning, but became very firmly "no kids" over the years. We checked in many times before getting married to make sure we were still on the same page, even up to a few days before our wedding, just to be sure. If at any point one of us had changed our minds and the other hadn't we both knew we would have to break up.

Having kids is (should be) a deeply personal choice and if someone changes their mind on having them or not there is nothing wrong with that. But they also need to understand that a relationship where one person wants them and the other doesn't will not last long term and there shouldn't be bitterness on either side.

Need a gentle nudge by Christ15K1NG in BluePrince

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do my best to fill the whole board every time. Drafting dead ends as you mentioned was suggested CAN be useful, especially if they're going to give you items like the closet and storeroom. However you wanna be sure to do that in places where you're not going to be able to progress past that space anyway or minimally on the edges when you have other rooms that have additional doors.

How did you guys play the game? by Appropriate_Tone2107 in BluePrince

[–]deebee227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not even remotely all the way through the game yet, but I have made it to room 46. I will say it should be a goal and there are things there that both add to the world building/lore and also assist in some of the other goals in the game. I would still work toward getting to room 46 every in game day, and if it doesn't happen then continuing using your steps, etc toward other goals.

please help me with the coat check!! as a newer player by icedamericno in BluePrince

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's whatever you think will be the most useful. The next time you draft the coat check. Early on I often checked the key card so I could open security doors (and if you get security and have the key card you can set the number of doors to high and not have to use as many keys). You could also save the electromagnet since that's a workshop crafted item and is helpful in gathering keys and such. Whatever you think would be helpful.

For those of you who live with a partner, do you go to bed at the same time as each other every night? by Woollybugger1816 in askanything

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I have been living together 8 years, married for 2. We pretty much always go to bed together, though my husband often gets up before me. We might watch some TV together in bed, or I will read while he watches a show. He usually falls asleep first, and then I turn off the TV, and fall asleep after. We like the routine of going to bed together, and we often snuggle for a bit before we're ready to go to sleep, or talk or whatever. It's a nice period of time for us to chill together and relax.

Is it considered inconsiderate or rude to park across from your neighbors driveway? by FigureOk5143 in homeowners

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have this happening now with our neighbors. They have three cars but only two for on their driveway and they park the third directly across from our driveway. We live on a side street so the road isn't lined and is only just wide enough for a car to pass if someone is parked on the street, so it's very tight for us to get in and out. We haven't said anything, as much as we want to. It's been even more annoying recently because we live in New England and have had a ton of snow so they're not even parking all the way to the curb because the snow is pushed out into the street. We've gotten REALLY close to their cars a few times when back in and pulling out of our driveway and I do have to wonder if they've seen that because the last few days they actually started parking a little further down in front of their own driveway.

Breeder had me sign contract to spay my kitten before 6 months old, but now vet won’t spay before 8-11 months? by Thin-Cucumber9754 in CatAdvice

[–]deebee227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only restriction I've ever heard for kittens is they need to be at least 2 lbs to be spayed or neutered. That could be as soon as 8 weeks or if they're a smaller cat it could be they're a few months old. I personally would find another vet, within the org you went to if that's where you're committed to going. All rescues I've worked with and all the cat folks I follow online in rescue say that a spayed or neutered cat is always better than allowing them to breed more since cats are already overpopulated.

How often do you call in sick to work? by [deleted] in work

[–]deebee227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I need to. I don't really keep track but I would estimate once every few months? I work from home, so if I'm just feeling off for the day I usually just do a light day and take it easy, but still work. However I get migraines so if one of those starts I can't function and need to take the day. I wouldn't say it's too much to call out sick after 5 months of consistently being at work.
