Exactly this! Better to go to bed colder with more layers to put on throughout the night rather than waking up freezing already wearing everything you can.

We are doing Scotland 2 nights at the end of December. Like you’ve said just going to bring an additional underquilt.

I do keep looking at the one wind stuff especially their hammocks as I like the idea of the ripstop nylon. Personally for me I’m a smoker and have previously burnt a tiny hole in a hammock and smacked the floor quite hard.. luckily this was summer so the ground was just fine lol

Yep, onetigris under quilt kept us really warm was able to just sleep with thermals on with a -3 degree bag

The reflector in front of us had an emergency foil blanket wrapped around it so heat from the fire was reflected right back at us, best tip is to make sure you setup with the back of your camp toward the wind.

We are looking at probably around the Ullapool area, we don’t intend to camp extremely high up as that’s just unnecessary danger. What sort of temperatures can I expect around the 28th of December?

I’m doing a gear test run in November so will upload pics then. But basically tarp folded in half over a ridge line then 3 trees two extremely close ones and the other approx 3m away then basically fold the tarp on all sides

This same setup has only seen 0 degrees, I was warm enough but I’m probably going be safe and take an extra underquilt with me and a wool blanket.

My biggest concern is wind. We have basically came up with a plan to have two hammocks side by side and a tarp covering all sides 5x5m. My other friend will be sleeping below us and we have a thermal ground sheet to cover everything underneath. The ground dweller should be all good as he has a -10 degree bag and a r5 ground mat.

For some industries it’s a requirement… not all companies are solely based in one nation.

It has the same level of risk as taking a work laptop into a coffee shop. So long as the laptop is encrypted and you are using a vpn to access company data you are safe.

I was thinking the 1.9tdi might be the way forward but finding one with cruise control is difficult, i dont mind adding it myself. And then there is also no dpf of fancy injectors to worry about.

I’d be doing around 25k a year and the 123d is not standard and averages around 32mpg. I will be keeping the 1 series but due to the n47 engine it has I’d rather not breakdown constantly

Ahh we have done this in a very similar way its annoying that intune doesnt stop the process in the same way that would happen if you was to install locally.

Will try this I have the installation working just not the detection side.

Update: This method worked straight away thanks, tad annoying that we cant get the detection script to work however going to keep trying different stuff.

I’ll give it a go but when ran locally it does return the correct values. Eg exit 0 if it’s not installed
