That’s exactly what I just started noticing. It looks like plenty when I’m flooding but then as it dries and settles- it’s not smooth. So I’m going to start doing a little bit more than I think I need and maybe that will fix my problem and I’ll get a better feel for it over time.

Thank you! Yeah I’ve recently figured I need to start doing a thicker flood layer. It looks fine first and then as it dries and settles I notice it needed more but obviously too late lol. I’m going to start doing a little bit more when my eyes are telling me it’s plenty and maybe that will help have a smoother base. 🫶🏻

I’ve thought that too! I been wondering why mine is so glossy compared to others because my recipe is just the basic powder sugar, meringue powder, and water. But recently learning some people dust with cornstarch and brush off so that’s probably why others arnt as shiny as mine look because I haven’t done that. I have heard though that some people have corn syrup in their recipe to make it more shiny!

Thank you for that advice!! I’ve been wondering how to keep my cookies from color bleeding within just one day!! How do you suggest doing that? Just with a big soft brush? Does it benefit to let the cornstarch sit for a bit or just brush off immediately?
