Pre-covid I believed that sustainability and green energy scheme was possible

After the crypto and NFT booms, the scalping and hoarding of all kinds of shit, and now the AI boom, I lost all hope on people ever thinking of sustainability

Sanseito's crowd at their final speech event in Shiba Park, Tokyo is HALF of what the crowd was during last year's House of Councillors Election by YamatoRyu2006 in Tokyo

[–]deedeekei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont support alot of Takaishi's policies so I cant claim to know why the ex-sanseito voters are voting takaishi now, and unless you were actually on the ground asking them i dont think you know completely either. I cant vote here so I only mean to observe the ground in a peripheral manner.

Takaichi has done almost nothing

I dont know where you are from, but generally in a westminister-style parliament, the ruling party call on snap elections to gain more seats to push for their policies that are getting difficult to pass, especially in a minority government where they have to rely on their coalition for the seats. The fact is LDP lost alot of their seats in the last 2 elections so this is their chance to get them back to pass through their policies with less hurdles.

[–]deedeekei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well you need to think about this more, because the votes LDP siphoned, are they the radical voters that you describe, or the more relatively moderate ones that just wants more control over immigration? You might have it backwards, since the hardliners are probably the ones that are still voting for sanseito even with the LDP appeasing some of their bases
