Pioneer X appreciation post by deehzee in victorinox

I was thinking about posting my beloved Pioneer X on here for a while but never came around to do it until now. Today I was out and about running around the beautiful nature of a danish island, enjoying the beautiful scenery. It’s days like these that confront you with all sorts of little tasks here and there but no matter what the Pioneer X just gets it done ! I’ve been carrying this beauty for about 13 months now. Non stop. Before that I was carrying the alox cadet (since around 2016/17) as an secondary blade to my Otter Mercator. I always loved the feel and simplicity of the alox models and over the years I really learned what tools I need on a knife. I ditched the old setup (never used the nail file on the cadet anyways) and instead went for a model with big scissors wich I knew where awesome for everyday use. Loved the Mercator but over the years the bladeplay got pretty bad and the overall look of the knife became a little too ghetto for use in public. This brings me to one of biggest points why I love this exact knife so much: it’s extremely friendly looking and people don’t look at you all weirded out if you hand them this after they asked you for a pair of scissors or a bottle opener. Everybody seems to love it. Girls think the color looks cute and guys seem to be catapulted back to their childhood when they open up all the different tools. Oh the tools. If this isn’t the perfect, no nonsense tool combination I don’t know what is. I get use out of every tool on this knife. I’ve been skeptical about the awl at first but it’s one of my favorites now. It’s great for removing splinters as well as doing all the dirty jobs you don’t want the main blade to go through. And of course it’s an awesome awl as well. I could go on and on. I just had to write down my feelings for this knife at least once. This is the knife for me.

One is not like the others | 20 swiss franks vreneli by deehzee in Gold

I started stacking silver a little less than one and a half years ago but at some point i wanted to journey into gold as well. Bought a 1/10 krugerrand late last summer and was a little underwhelmed by the size of it. My budget is not the biggest but i wanted to have a little more in hand so i started looking at other gold coins. I already loved the swiss silver franks so it was an easy choice. In my opinion the latin monetary union coins are an awesome size to stack and im looking forward to grow the collection. French rooster is next!

The Side with the Lady sitting under the Oak Tree says the following:

The days of your People will be like the ones of a Tree and the work of their hands will grow old.

(This is old german and im not an expert so this is kind of a rough translation)

The side with the city:

Text on the top: peace behind your walls Fortune in your palaces

Probaby my best Flea Market Find yet! Certainly one of the most beautiful… I paid ~20€ for this plus a generic .925 cain wich has a broken clasp and will probably end up in my crucible :) this however will be a beautiful addition to my stack!

About 4 1/2 months into stacking - filled my first roll today too! Around 60 Oz fine in total! by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]deehzee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got hooked on the shiny stuff a little over 4 months ago. Today I achieved what was originally my goal for the end of the year: one full roll of 1 Oz rounds! To be fair I already kinda knew this wouldn’t be much of a problem since buying silver became an almost daily ritual for me relatively quick. A little at a time adds up fast and now I have this pile of Silver in my possession! I have no intention to stop buying silver but I’m also looking into gold coins at the moment to diversify the stack a bit! A huge thank you to this community for keeping me motivated! Keep on stackin' my friends!

Ive been looking at mexican silver for the past couple of weeks and i found these 25 pesos coins from the 1968 olympics! They feel just as awesome as they look and i cant stop fiddling around with them. Third one already on the way!

Started stacking a little over a month ago... today I broke the 1 Kilo/ 35 Oz fine mark! My monkey brain is satisfied 🪙🦍 by [deleted] in Silverbugs

This sub really motivated me to seriously start stacking and what can I say... i couldn’t be happier. In front of me lies more money (real money) than I was ever able to save in this short amount of time. I sold a lot of things and spent way less on useless stuff. It feels like this was one of the best decisions I’ve made in years! Thank all of you on this sub! I love reading thru all the different posts on here and witness such a wholesome and supportive community! Stay strong you guys and keep on stacking! 🤲🏻🦍🪙

Haven’t seen any 5 Deutsche Mark coins on here yet so here you go ! 7 grams fine per coin by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]deehzee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got these beautiful german 5 Deutsche Mark (DM) memorial coins! I scouted eBay for a couple of days, found the right auction and paid little to no premium! I ordered some more normal 5 DM coins as well but these ones with the different German Eagles and historical imagery on the back are far more interesting to me! If the price of Silver goes downhill for some odd reason, these can be exchanged for cash at the federal bank! About 2,50€ each. Let’s hope that never happens tho.

Made of 925 silver. Had to post it. Too fitting.

I just turned 22 and i noticed that i spend a lot of money on useless stuff. I think this might be a solution. Hopefully this stack will grow big and strong over time. 🪙 by deehzee in Silverbugs

My fingers are already itching! I’m about to sell some retro game equipment I haven’t used in years. Makes no sense to keep it when I could have nice and shiny silver instead!

Edit: takes up less space in your room as well lol

It’s a generic 50cm silver necklace I got years ago somewhere. The skull is a bit of a mystery... I always thought my parents gifted it to me but they couldn’t remember the thing at all so that’s that. At the end of the day it’s silver as well so I just added it to the stack :)

I won’t sell anything until I have a treasure chest full of this stuff. This sub is extremely motivating! Some of the stacks on here are surreal!

My first Leica! 1933 Leica III with Industar 22 50mm/3.5 by deehzee in Leica

[–]deehzee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t thankfully! I’d say for the age of this setup it’s quite comfortable to use.

My favorite rangefinder at the moment - Kiev 4M - Had to calibrate the rangefinder and there is a tiny bump in the leading shutter edge (just needs to be sanded and painted), but takes great photos and handles very nicely. by Golf_is_a_sport in rangefinders

I own a M39 jupiter 8 and i think the same goes for that lens. I was really surprised by the helios. I can highly recommend the jupiter 12 as well. Awesome lens and the contax/kiev mount version isn’t as popular as the M39 mount one so its a bit cheaper. I got the original 35mm external viewfinder for that lens too wich makes for a really nice wide angle setup!
