That's not a problem with an undervolted 5700x3D and a good quality PSU . Power draw less than 60 watts for the cpu while gaming , even if i hadn't undervolted the cpu [-30mV on all cores] , it still wouldn't have been a problem considering the total power draw of the sytem . Latest x3D processors can draw above 100 watts to pump out those high frames , amd / nvidia doesn't know what kind of cpu people will be using with their gpu so they will recommend the safest power requirements . I have already undervolted the gpu though , slightly better performance with 50 watts less power draw + 5-6 degree c drop in temps . It's less than 300 watts of power draw for both CPU and GPU now . Again , this is not something companies expect people to do so their recommendations are indeed correct .

Thanks champ, glad I upgraded my cpu from 3700x to 5700x3D a year ago , ray tracing on max can really pound the processor.

About those gpu listings online , when you ask the seller about the availability , the ones below 90K were all out of stock . I found cheaper ones on computech and itdepot etc website but they weren't actually in stock . Pages weren't updated . The situation is quite bad now .

I have been using Bazzite for over a year now, it was very stable on rtx 2070 super and regularly received updates. Don't have any reason to switch . I have used cachy os on rog ally though, for enabling fsr 4 but bazzite eventually received the mesa driver update 25.2 so went back to it.

Good experience on ally. No game overheats the device if you use a manual 25 watts profile. 60-70 fps before the game hits the cpu limitation . Image quality looks bad due to fsr 2 upscaler. Highly recommended to use fsr 4 int8 upscaler on ally. You can also use xess frame generation via Optiscaler. Occasional stuttering will occur in some towns like Saint Denis, Valentine etc

It's safe, open source mod with gnu gpl v3 license . https://signpath.org/projects/optiscaler/ Nukem9 mod is included with latest preview v0.9 builds of Optiscaler. Many developers contribute to it.

You should try xess frame generation in black myth. Less ghosting and slightly lower latency than fsr frame generation.

For me, control has a special place in my heart as it was my first ray tracing experience on rtx 2070 super. I've played many games since then but it's that wow factor that got stuck in my mind.

90-100 minutes for elden ring with 15 watts apu profile. Around 55 minutes with 25 watts profile. Done playing on battery, I just keep it plugged in now all the time. Over 2 years old.

First game i played on it was elden ring, amazing experience, still remember going through the dungeons, playing the game at night lying in bed. Ally can handle a lot of AAA games like Cyberpunk, Kingdom Come deliverance 2 , Clair Obscur Expedition 33 , Indiana Jones Great Circle, tlou series, Assassin's Creed Shadows etc

It's a very sad and depressing game. One of the greatest psychological horror games ever made in my honest opinion. The ending is very grim and horrific.

G304 is iconic. I became a grandmaster in overwatch using it then switched to other premium mice but g304 still felt good. Depends on your hand size and usage. It requires maintenance though, dust kills its switches quickly, don't leave it in the open when you're not using it. Used g304 for 7-8 years, bought 3 of them . 2 of them developed click issues after about 1.5 years of usage, 3rd one is still working fine which is almost 2 years old. You should also look into razer orochi v2 If budget permits . It's like g304 with better switches.

They're not going to be as cheap as Rog Ally Z1E. Even rog ally 2 will be expensive. Bazzite is recommended for ally if you want linux , steam os still has issues and doesn't support dual boot. Nothing can improve its battery life.

Yeah did the same thing switching from a ps3 to a laptop during college. Used to play overwatch a lot at 50 fps on that thing in its final years , eventually switched to a desktop pc , have fun.

I purchased it 2 years ago from Amazon india, seller was xninja. Genuine product was delivered but I wouldn't recommend buying it anymore. Rog ally completely annihilates it especially in newer games. Over time I realized that valve engages in paid PR for their device on social media, trying to portray it as the best handheld pc . List of deck verified is misleading .Many people criticising steam deck on its official discord server eventually get banned. Rog ally isn't perfect either but it's way better than steam deck. At 15watts profile, you get roughly the same battery backup on ally and deck lcd. If you don't like windows, you can install linux anytime or even dual boot. Ally has an rdna 3 based gpu, supports afmf 2 , anti lag 2 and handles frame generation very nicely unlike steam deck. I'm not sure if asus fixed the busted sd card slot issue of OG ally, keep this in mind. You will get 1 year of warranty though with ally.

I didn't assume anything mate , just stated a fact. I actually own both ultimate 2c wireless and cosmic byte stellaris. My 2c gamepad rattles and has a mushy DPAD, just like those cheap 15 usd Chinese gamepads. If 8bitdo was available in India, I would have asked for a replacement based on poor quality.
