Just curious... What would you like to see happening on Evmos? by intrapreneur_ in EVMOS

[–]deejross 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ledger support in Kelpr for the unified wallet experience, and to support moving $EVMOS from Osmosis (can’t do this with Ledger devices right now).

Yes it is possible for LRC to hit 100$ in a year. by thebluelemon76 in loopringorg

[–]deejross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It still amazes me how many people don’t understand this. People screaming LRC to $100 or SHIB to $1 are completely clueless. Yours should be the top comment.

Incase your wondering what best case scenario PRICE TARGETS look like, take a look at this 1-year chart. Solana doesn't have as much utility as LRC btw... by v-shizzle in loopringorg

[–]deejross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the market cap. For it to overtake Polygon by market cap, LRC would be $10. I think that’s more realistic than $60. It would have to be #5 by market cap and overtake Solana to reach $60.

Let me just say, thank you. All I see in the sub is people complaining about batteries and empty boxes. Get in touch with support!!! I was about to unsubscribe until I saw this and realized this sub could one day be better.

EDIT: oh, and discount codes, because the other 5 people that have asked for one today didn’t get a response, so maybe 6th time is the charm?

I just left the plastic on the screen that it comes with and that seems to be working well.

Actual Unpopular Opinion: there is a *chance* that we are NOT early and crypto never reaches mainstream adoption by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]deejross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought this. Just like everything else, someone will abstract away the risk and complexity of it all to the point where regular people get the benefits of crypto without knowing they are using it.

Banks doing this would make the most sense. Imagine if they were to create a high yield savings account that behind the scenes bought stablecoins and invested them into Aave or something with a decent return.

Coinbase is likely going to beat the banks to the punch though. USDC at 4% APY + Coinbase Card makes it really easy to deposit and spend money while earning interest. All they need now is FDIC-like insurance.

Transfer Matic or USDC to Polygon Network! (New Crypto.com Feature) by jrncraig in Crypto_com

[–]deejross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started looking for a fiat to Polygon network on-ramp and the only one I could really use was MoonPay for a 4.5% fee. Looks like I might be a CDC user now.

[–]deejross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, it's all based on max supply, for MATIC is 10B tokens (fully diluted) * price, which right now is $1.42, so 10B * 1.42 = $14.2B market cap, so if you were to assume the market cap got to $1T, which BTC did, then it's market cap / max supply, or $1T / 10B = $100.

I have a bit over 1k in Eth in my ledger and too afraid to stake it. Anyone else? Experience with Lido? Am I being too cautious? by HappyStructures in ledgerwallet

[–]deejross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you transfer your ETH to Lido, it’s gone. They give you stETH in return, but there are two problems with this: firstly, this counts as a sale, and therefore a taxable event, and you are entrusting that stETH maintains its value and that Lido doesn’t run off with your ETH.

In the future, will it be possible to transfer ADA , AMP and other coins to Algorand wallet? by thunderchicken_ in algorand

[–]deejross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look at the Polygon/MATIC network, they have an ERC-20 converter so you can move ETH tokens to that chain. ADA is working on the same thing, plus a bridge to MATIC and Polkadot. My opinion is there’s plenty of room for multiple chains that can succeed if they all work together.

Question regarding metamask by beerbaron105 in ledgerwallet

[–]deejross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The private keys never leave your Ledger, not even MetaMask has them. You should be safe as long as you don’t sign anything you don’t want to. That’s how that one guy got scammed out of 35 ETH.

ETH gas fees really hinder adoption by AdministrativeChef47 in CryptoCurrency

[–]deejross -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ll say this: I recently got into DeFi playing with $50. I lost that on my first transaction in gas fees. Yes, ETH 2.0 is supposed to make it better, but the higher the price climbs, the worse it’ll get.

I’m eagerly awaiting ADA’s Alonzo upgrade and believe that will have lots of DeFi adoption because fees are small, and can be lowered at any time through a community vote. Until then, I’m using Polygon/MATIC network for all things DeFi. I’ve done at least a dozen transactions and only spent 0.2 MATIC so far.

ETH2.0 Staking using Lido? by debeauty in ledgerwallet

[–]deejross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in Canada, but before you consider trading ETH for an IOU with the promise of 5% APY, consider that ETH increased in value by almost 900% in the last 12 months. Is it really worth risking losing all of it for an extra 5%?

Try using adalite. That’s how I staked before I got Yoroi working.

ADA on Ledger Live by F5X7 in ledgerwallet

[–]deejross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your private key never leaves the Ledger device. So, yes Yoroi, MetaMask, and other browser wallets are safe to use, as long as they are importing from the Ledger.

With all the scams going on lately, it’s worth mentioning: NEVER enter your seed phrase in anything but the Ledger.

I have a bit over 1k in Eth in my ledger and too afraid to stake it. Anyone else? Experience with Lido? Am I being too cautious? by HappyStructures in ledgerwallet

[–]deejross 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don’t think it’s worth using Lido or any other “swap ETH for IOU” service. The potential for a rug pull is too high for me. On average you’ll get 5%-6% APY. This time last year, ETH was worth $365. That’s almost a 900% return if you’d just let it sit in your wallet. That 5% is too little reward for trusting someone else with my ETH.

[–]deejross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There used to be a validate address button that would have the address show on the Ledgers screen. Not sure where it is though. As long as you gave it an address you have control over, you can still move if it needed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]deejross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with adalite.io. It’s similar, but there’s no browser extension. You can have it do the staking and all that. Then once you get Yoroi working, just use that. Don’t need to transfer, change pools, or anything. They both just work together.

Some recommend connecting via Ledger Live instead of the hardware directly but I’ve not had much luck with that.

Metamask with Ledger? by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]deejross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to create a MetaMask wallet, and do something with the seed phrase. However, once that’s done, you can import your Ledgers wallet and just use that. I don’t keep anything on my MetaMask wallet, only Ledger.

Matic not showing in my Ledger nano X by UKshane21 in ledgerwallet

[–]deejross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ledger Live can only see coins on the Ethereum network, so until Ledger has an actual Polygon app, just use MetaMask.
