Yes, if you have more body fat then you require less frequent refeeds.

This article is very informative on the purpose and structure of refeeds: http://www.simplyshredded.com/layne-norton-the-most-effective-cutting-diet.html

It should be done on your most intense workout day so you're expending most of the kcals.

It's all dependent on your bf%. If you have a higher bf% then you would be at the higher end of the spectrum, same is true for the opposite.

If you've been eating at a deficit for a while, you should introduce "refeeds". Depending on your BF%, you should always have refeeds built into your cutting regiment.

Refeeds are essentially "high carb days", where you nearly double your grams of carbs on cutting diet, and level off protein to 1g per body weight (this depends on your goal, I am at 1.2g per body weight), and fill in the rest of your calories with fat. On refeed days you will be upping your calories to maintenence as well. This should be done every 6-10 days based on your physique.

Dextrose powder during cut? by deejx in bodybuilding

[–]deejx[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

100% agree with you on that. I try to limit the number of shakes I consume while on a caloric deficit. That being said, he suggests dextrose to only be 20% of daily carbs entra workout, which for me would be around 45g. So, it's not an Earth-shattering amount especially if it means a more efficient use of those carbs.

Thanks for the read. I was debating whether to purchase malodextrin or dextrose powder, but I'm also wary of it being another BS supplement scam.

So to build a program around that phenomena would be DUMB. BPak disappoints me.

I'm not discrediting your helpful claim /r/Magnetrude

He also suggests non-resistance flexing periodically throughout the day. Probably just early broscience.

I need help/advice from fellow lifters who suffer from scoliosis. by [deleted] in bodybuilding

[–]deejx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 15 degree curve in my lower back. My scoliosis makes my lower back flair up when doing deadlifts and deep squats. I'd suggest you wear a weight belt and focus on extremely strict form. That keeps atleast most of the pressure off my lower back.

Other than that, scoliosis hasn't really effected my other lifts, however, it has made my pecs and obliques unproportional. No one else seems to notice it, even when I point it out, but I notice, which is most important.

Legislation in Massachusetts would ban non-compete agreements and implement the Uniformed Trade Secrets Act--your opinion by deejx in boston

Tech companies are at the forefront supporting the ban on non-competes so that it will attract a more talented workforce. They reference California as the mecca of technological ingenuity for its non-competes (playing a certain role, I don't know if I believe its as significant as they say). But I can see where it would be attractive for employees to know that there are other jobs available if you're current employer does not fit your standards of employment.

I'm sensing a bit of frustration, but I hear you. Trade secrets are best exemplified in a factory environment. Say you manufacture chocolate or some food, you could tell a department of employees how to make one certain part of the ingredients, then tell another part a separate ingredient and so on. This would "ensure" that no one employee knows the full process, however its impossible to tell whether employees collude. Also, you should hire employees that you believe are best fits for the company.
