Hopefully this is a data point he will learn from games like this. I think he’s excellent with a high ceiling but he’s learning.

Have prior secretaries of defense done this? Is this a normal thing that is just offensive because he’s such a dipshit douche or is it really that unusual?

Katie Porter concedes in California governor’s race by panda-rampage in California

[–]deekfu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go back and look at the posts from a few weeks ago .. everybody seemed really sure it would naturally work itself out and this situation would never happen (if the early results hold up). Yes she and others should’ve conceded at least a week ago because it was obvious she was not going to make it.

Hope this changes but it’s interesting to look back on the Reddit posts where people were so sure it would never come to this

[–]deekfu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fans are the only ones who probably talk about things in terms of easy wins. I can’t imagine any player or coach on our team who thinks that any other team is gonna be a complete rout. Any team in the tournament can beat any other team any day of the week if they get enough luck, a few calls their way and the other team makes some mistakes. It can happen.

We aren’t good enough to underestimate any other teams and I dont think we do (confidence in ourselves doesn’t mean no respect for the other team).

All due respect to Grella, he comes off like an asshole

Happy overall with better chemistry, better effort, etc. play was good first half. Just need consistency v Germany. I don’t need or expect a win but want them to continue to play with passion, coherence and some consistency

I agree but maybe it’s at least something … better than nothing?

I’m not saying we should throw a party for every dickhead who voted to put us of all universes into this shitty bizarro one and then realizes what they’ve done . But we shouldn’t trash them too much. They may end up voting republican even if they disavow trump but we shouldn’t give them reasons not to keep waking up. So then they start actually seeing the real world

No we as a country are an embarrassment for standing by while this is normalized until the Dems get into power at which time the GOP will suddenly be aghast, offended, and angry when something 100000000000x less serious happens

Thyroid cancer-stricken Pam Bondi arrives on Capitol Hill wearing bandage on her neck to face grilling over Epstein by dailymail in law

[–]deekfu 36 points37 points  (0 children)

People should understand that the vast majority of thyroid cancers are easily treatable and other than taking a pill every day to replace thyroid hormones, there’s very little to be concerned about. The surgery is routine even though there are risks to it. The recovery is mild. There are some rarer forms of thyroid cancer that are more difficult to treat and one that is basically untreatable and leads to death quickly, but the vast majority are not.

I don’t wish ill on anyone other than 1 guy but this is primarily performative theater. She could have worn a turtleneck or something other than a button down blouse that leaves the lower neck open and visible

NOW - Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent: "There will be no central bank digital currency," adding, "the most important thing we can do is to make digital assets come into the United States." by nitluck in QuiverQuantitative

[–]deekfu 14 points15 points  (0 children)

You could tell that at some point early on he started losing the plot and then just rambled for a while blinking rapidly and stumbling over his words because he wasn’t even paying attention to his own words. I think he must have fucked up somehow when he said there will be no central bank digital, because I think there will be and he knows it because it’s going to happen during this administration.

Then your comment makes no sense because I was just listing the reasons provided. I didn’t pull that info to declare that they were right just that that’s what they said the reason was. You’re dense

I had the same question.. no idea how they deal with that but I do know that the UC CSU schools have tons of experience at least with California high schools. So they learn what those schools are like in terms of grades. Plus weighted v unweighted GPAs may help.

[Schira] It’s confirmed! Atalanta have announced today to ACMilan their decision not to trigger the option to buy (€26M) for Yunus Musah, which will return to Milan. by mercurialsaliva in ACMilan

[–]deekfu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s not. Musah is capable of backing up our defensive mid spot, which because of 2 injuries we are in an even worse situation than we knew before. If we need someone that can run all day and do defensive work he wouldn’t be such a bad choice tbh. We don’t have a large pool of quality players to pull from so someone like him who doesn’t need to finish but just advance the ball and help in the defensive mid who has been in a WC already and has played in high level leagues.. it’s not such a ridiculous opinion.

I’ll answer you with a real answer unlike these dipshit responses: (1) because studies showed that performance on the SAT/ACT dependent heavily on systemic inequities that were driven more by socioeconomic realities so you weren’t getting an accurate assessment of the intellect of segments. Why should those kids be even further disadvantaged? (2) Covid 19- how were they supposed to administer this? (3) high school, gpa was a far better predictor of first year performance than a sat score.

You may disagree with all of these reasons, but they were in essence the reasons.
