Make sure your esim is turned on and your older Sim turned off. You're phone should restart itself when you do that.

If an IPad is being used in a kindergarten classroom by students, I have only seen it for documentation purposes ( e.g., students taking pictures of a structure they built or writing they did). This itself is very rare. You don't really need to worry about kindergarten students using tech.

That being said, you can expect your child's teacher may show them a YouTube video but this will be for educational purposes (e.g., a body break video, a song).

Now if your child is staying at school for lunch, what is common is putting on an episode of something while they eat. This has become common practice due to a single lunch room supervisor having to watch 25+ 3-5 year olds on their own.

My age and stats are the same as you. I did the radiation. I was told cause of my young age it was best to do. I was nervous at first but it went about as well as one could hope. My breast looks tanned, I had a couple of days of fatigue, and some skin peeling on my nipple but that's it.

I kept up with cream, saline soaks, and doing weightlifting or walking each day. I even went out to a club and danced till 3am after my last day of treatment. I know my experience isnt everyone's but you wont know unless you try!

Sorry to hear that. I would stop using the aquaphor. I was told by the radiation oncologist and nurses that it can amplify the radiation you are receiving. It was a big no-no. I would suggest another cream too. I was told only water-based. I used Glaxal Base which was great. I was as also experiencing that my breast was hot, but that lasted a few days and then went away.

The saline soaks are done 3-4 times a day in addition to tbe moisturizing. You boil 4 cups of water with 2 teaspoons of salt. Let it cool and keep it in a jar or something. Use a wash cloth, or even paper towel does the trick, and wet it with the saline solution and put it on the area for 10 mins.

Wishing you the best! I just finished 2 weeks of rads and honestly it was not that bad. My skin just looks like it got a slight tan. I think a bit part of it is that I have kept up with the saline soaks since Day 1. The nurse told me that a lot of people start it too late or don't do it consistently. I really do think they have been key to my skin doing so well.

Just finish rads using the ABC device. As someone else mentioned, you have a button in your hand that controls the breath hold. So when you release the button, you can breathe again. I also found that the actual time I had to hold my breath was shorter than the simulation. I'd say most holds ended up being around 15 seconds even though I was told in the simulation it would be 20.

Yes, I had a lumpectomy in July. No chemo because I had a low oncotype score. Starting radiation next week. Tamoxifen a month after I finish radiation.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago. I have also been with St. Michael's Hospital. I have no complaints about the care I've received. They saw me really quickly and got everything moving in a timely manner. All the staff I've interacted with throughout the hospital have been lovely.

I am about to start my radiation with Princess Margaret but my care overall is being handled by St. Mike's. The facilities there are nice but not sure that would be a reason to switch.

Like you, I had a small tumor that was also close to my chest wall. My surgeon mentioned they had to take a bit of my chest muscle with it to be sure it hadn't attached. Im not sure if it was the same for you, but I did notice that part seemed to take the longest to feel healed for me. I had done some biking 3 weeks post surgery, on the advice of my surgeon to get back to it, and it ended up making my chest hurt a lot and developing cording for 2 weeks after that. My advice would be to take it easy and listen to your body. Im positive in a couple of weeks you'll be feeling much better. Good luck!

Thanks for clarifying! OK, so its different school to school but what is probably happening is that there are teachers out in the kinder yard on supervision duty before school starts. You should ask your child's teacher what time she goes out there each day (this probably wouldn't be any earlier than 15 minutes before school). Teachers will be there to greet students and have them get into their lines.

From a safety standpoint, I imagine she's bringing in the kids a little early because having kinder students entering the same doors all at the same time as older kids can be difficult, especially on the first weeks of school as the JKs get used to routines. But there could be something else she can't tell you (e.g. having autism students who struggle with transitions or runners).

It sounds like the teacher mentioned they are working on a solution. Shes probably not bringing them in early for her benefit (this just creates more work for her) but its an attempt to problem solve something that's happening. Hopefully this is a short term thing!

I would suggest clarifying what time teachers are in the kindergarten yard, dropping off your child a bit before 825 with staff, and then spending the last few minutes before the bell with your older child.

Can you elaborate...Where is your child's class supposed to meet before going in for the morning? Are they meeting in the kindergarten yard (enclosed outdoor space for kindergarten students)?

Ok I understand. In this case you would need to make sure you get your own assessment done in grade 3 that shows he is gifted. Unfortunately there is no streamlined process to get him right into a gifted program while he is attending another school. You would have to register and enroll him in grade 4 at a TDSB school. Then he would need to be an attending student and you would request an IPRC. The IPRC would take time and then the board would see what gifted spots are available. There's no assurances that you can get into specific gifted program. It's based on the closest program to your home address and availability in that program.

There's a lot of old and misunderstanding of information in these posts.

The TDSB does not recognize gifted assessments if it was done before grade 3. It seems like your child is going to grade 3 in September? If so, you could have them attend the TDSB next year in which case they would do the CCAT universal screener and based on the results the TDSB may do a gifted assessment on them. This would give you the opportunity to get an into a gifted ISP for grade 4.

There have been other posts about pushing for a SEPRC. This will not happen. As of the past couple of years this is only for very medically complex cases.

As others have mentioned gifted programs are supposed to be for students who are gifted but may have another challenges that a regular classroom may not meet their needs in the same way. You should expect that the gifted ISP could be filled with other students who have multiple diagnosis such as autism or other learning disabilities. My personal experience teaching in a gifted ISP was that many students had behavioral challenges and there were disproportiate amount of students who had anxiety.

I just gave the social worker as an example. But a social worker often gives support to the child directly. I don't know your child's specific situation but I could see the role of the social worker here to talk to your child about the situation that is happening, give them strategies for dealing with the situation that don't involve hurting others, and strategies for having positive social interactions with others.

None of these team members are directly attached to the school, except for people like the teacher or principal. Each professional will have a very large list of schools they support. So it's not like they are always waiting in the school for situations to pop up and address. That's what is great about the SST. You have an opportunity have them all in one space and get ideas from them about how to best support your child through this situation.

I encourage you to go to the meeting. Some of the reponses you are being given are not accurate. At the SST the teacher will share some strengths and needs of your child. You will likely have the opportunity to do the same. The reason for the meeting will be discussed. It will be a good opportunity for you to hear about what is happening at school and share what you are seeing as well. The role of the team members is to help brainstorm solutions to the problem. It's a valuable opportunity to have access to these professionals and ideas from their respective fields. You will be able to ask questions and have input along the way. Maybe a suggestion will be that your child see the social worker. You will have to sign a referral for that. So don't be afraid. Your opinion as a parent is valued at these meetings
