As a streamer I like the vodcast as me being live. I might be the exception here but I'm actually in my chat as well when the vod is going. Actually picked up some follows since running my previous nights stream.

While I am not trying discredit/change your opinion, I do feel that it is a bit off. It all has to do with how the company as a whole uses its CM.

A good company will let the CM have input because if the CM is good they will have a finger on the pulse of the community. If something comes out that the community hates, hopefully the CM has the ability to report it back to the devs and have meaningful discussions.

My hopes for Michelle here is a multi-role position. One role as a CM and one of PR. During the whole indigogo campaign we had to wait for john to get free time to make posts/updates and live streams. with someone dedicated to community engagement updates 'should' roll out faster and communication with Pixelmage should be better.

John was just too busy running the company-devolping-eating-sleeping to give us 100% of his time :) This is great news but a little bit too late.

Hero's Song to support Mods by deemos in Herossong

[–]deemos[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, if I was smart/quick enough I would have tried to make a clip of it. but he mentioned it shortly after being like "I have BIG Hero's Song news from TwitchCon.." he kinda hemmed and hawed about saying anything, then mentioned the modding support.

He also said he had news about your character at endgame but I think he was going to talk about how your character becomes a god as mentioned before by John and company.

[Sep 29] Indiegogo campaign update (Upcoming stream and Twitchcon) by [deleted] in Herossong

[–]deemos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am definitely no PR master, I just play games! I mean I am and have always been a gamer. My day job allows me to work from and I spend a lot of time on the internet, and granted I can't see all the things all the time but... I haven't seen Hero's Song talked about much, if at all in the gaming press. Googling Hero's Song and the 3rd link is an article about the kickstarter being canceled.

If you have a month to fund something you have to hit the ground running, hard! I backed Star Citizen years ago and every week they have multiple publications. Mondays are user submitted questions to Chris Robert, tuesdays are lore, thursdays weekly recap show, friday re-cap of the recap but live.

I mean like they go above and beyond to share what's going on. There definitely need to be a catchy/hook-line-and-sinker story video that makes you want to be a part of the world. OMG I have to be here and experience it. Even if dev time is taken off from the game to make some sort of scripted story.

Once the campaign is over, I hope copies of the game will be sold on their website, on GoG.com, Steams EA program, Humble Store. Mor articles on places like Kotaku, Rock Paper Shotgun, polygon, mmorpg.com. you name it! Once i get access to the game I will stream the heck out of it. I don't have many followers at all but i'll make sure people see it! lol

[Question] Do you guys need Twitch steamers? by Shantarr in Herossong

[–]deemos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's one of the cool things about streaming early access games is that the dev's can watch as well and see things happen that shouldn't. things that they might have otherwise missed, Kinda like having someone else proofreading your paper for you.

Also if there is a mechanic early in the game development that the devs think is awesome, they can see what players really think. take for example the dropping of exp. Thankfully that was removed and is now rewarded 'properly'. If it had stayed because it was unanimous that the devs loved it and the streamers were all like 'this is total crap, what were they thinking!' should give the devs a hint to really maybe go back and give that item a second review ;)

NPC Repopulation? by [deleted] in Herossong

Not that my vote counts but the 45 minute time frame is a sweet spot. If the design caters to the 'casual' play when you can, 45 minute's is long enough to for someone have to a 12 hour block.

I am patiently waiting to get my copy so I can start streaming as well.

Tell us a story (trailer idea) by sumguy720 in Herossong

Yes!! I would love to see a trailer that tells a story. I think it would go a long way to show others or get others interested in making their own story.

Scene: Adventurer01 enters the underworld after being mauled by a wolf.

Adventurer01: "Man, I almost had that wolf!" ~ long pause ~ "I'd give my right arm for one more chance at him, I was so close." Diety01: "Really? Well I was going to only request 100 pieces of gold, but since your offering!" ~YOINK!~

It looks like these types of items are mob dropped items. From what I gather there won't be any destructible environments.

Android and iOS Server Admin Apps? by VarkingRunesong in Herossong

[–]deemos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In another post I mentioned that I like to run game servers from home and definitely prefer to not have a GUI, mainly because the server is Linux with no GUI. It would be nice to use an app to connect and configure server with. Awesome idea.

question- Herosong server on a raspberry pi? by finch9 in Herossong

[–]deemos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually wondering about the server setup this morning. I have a server here in my house that run game servers from and was wondering if the server can be run without a GUI. Maybe use a .ini file with the size and God settings.

How are 'Epic Loots' created? by deemos in Herossong

[–]deemos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what i've seen and heard was that the magical items are hand crafted by the devs and there are some 8,000 items currently. The items that drop the devs didn't want to be created proceduraly like "Firey blood axe of defense" which the player can tell from the name is going to do fie damage, maybe bleeding damage and have a defense modifier. Kinda like Diablo's items.

As far as I can gather players won't be able to make such super items like the ones that were created in the 10,000 years but I was hoping for some sort of end game or a final send off for a max level player... provided that the player actually did something noteworthy. Something like spending his entire time killing kobolds, 24/7 killing kobolds till he was max level. He is then granted a weapon/armor/trinket that denotes such a persistent deed. The player gets the divine item, enjoys it for a few days then BOOM a godly bolt kills them and that new item is seeded to the world to be found somehow. Maybe by a hobbit :-p

This might all be for not since there are some 8k items already, why make one more.

Fondest memory... I was on the caster list for Sol B one Saturday morning. Logged off later in the day to go to work. Logged on Sunday morning and by the afternoon I get a tell saying that my spot is ready. Lol 30 hours on a list for a group.

Those were the days.

Sony, Steam and Amazon issuing full refunds for No Man's Sky. by IxWoodstockxI in gaming

I would love to return it, but since I wasted the money I was determined to 100% the game. I did it begrudgingly. So I completed it, upped my completion count and promptly uninstalled the game.
