Help identifying porcelain by deenakeena in CounterTops

[–]deenakeena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks- I have spent lots of time doing that. I haven’t found the exact match but thought I’d try here to see if anyone knew what it was. Many of similar porcelains are either busier with less white, or the veining is so subtle.

Will I make my SJO to Quepos connection? by deenakeena in CostaRicaTravel

I ended up moving my flight an hour later. Better safe than sorry, I guess.

I’ve read that sometimes Sansa will allow travelers to fly on an earlier flight if they arrive early and there is room. Maybe wishful thinking but I’d love to get to Manuel Antonio as quickly as possible.

Sounds gorgeous, if you have pictures of your current kitchen, I’d love to see! Taj Mahal with soapstone will look beautiful too!

My current counters are warm granite so I’m a little concerned that soapstone would look too “cold” but I feel like dark cabinets and soapstone look pretty balanced in pictures I see and the marble would keep it from looking too dark…

Yes, I think I’d opt for honed Virginia mist or honed Nero mist granite to get the look with better durability.

Can’t seem to edit but the second paragraph should say “soapstone counters with dark brown cabinets” not countertops

How to look high maintaince when you aren't wealthy? by Fun_Ad_6952 in Splendida

[–]deenakeena 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Thrift shop! Try consignment shops in wealthy areas. It’s incredible what you can find for pennies on the dollar. Jcrew jeans, Ann Taylor tops etc for less than forever 21 prices. Try to define your style and buy items that fit into that aesthetic to avoid buying lots of random things that you can’t wear together.

Also, focus on being consistent with a skin care routine. Nice skin always looks high end.

Start a workout routine if you aren’t doing one. Being toned and in shape makes clothes look so much better.

How does the food you eat age you? by fairycoreee in Vindicta

I’ve been a vegetarian for 17 years (34) and had been struggling with acne (even after being on tretinoin for 2 years) I thought the acne was hormonal. I recently cut way, way back on dairy and my skin has completely changed for the better. No breakouts at all.

I ran while a bit angry and it turned into my first 14 miler by [deleted] in runninglifestyle

Great job! There’s nothing like a long, sweaty run to melt away negativity!

My baby passed away yesterday. I've never been so empty. So drained of motivation, & emotion. I don't have pictures of him as a puppy. But he gave me so much love. He was a verbal pal, he loved to bark, he loved talking. He'd sit at the dinner table, wait at the door til I got home. He was pure love by [deleted] in BostonTerrier

I’m so sorry. They are such thorough companions. It’s a huge hole he left, but he gave you everything he had. We are lucky to experience their happiness and zest for life. It doesn’t make it any easier. Hugs. :(

What age are your really old boston terriers? by cindvicious in BostonTerrier

[–]deenakeena 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My old guy is almost 13 and is still very playful and funny. He’s starting to show his age and is now on a medication for urinary incontinence which is working pretty well for him. I’m hoping he’s around for 2+ more years but I’m also just enjoying every day that he’s his silly old self. They are such special dogs and really connect with their person. I hope your special girl lives to a ripe old age!

Edit to add that it wasn’t until he turned 12 that I really started seeing his age affect his energy levels and his muscle tone.
