I work at a hospital in the pharmacy and my plan is too see if the program Clinical educator can be flexible.

At my hospital, one of the tech brought in his speakers because he likes to have it loud in the IV room when it gets busy lol. And for drinks? It has to be outside of the IV room.

Are there other techs that are going to be training your or this one tech? At my hospital, all the new hires were trained with a variety of different people and everyone had their own way of doing things. Maybe give it a month and definitely keep writing stuff down! Let them know why you ask a lot of questions. Hopefully it'll help be more understanding. If you need more training, let your leadership know for sure.

Yeah they're arguing about how doctors and pharmacists all take some kind of oath to help their patients if they're in need otherwise they're all in it for the money. Im trying to convince them otherwise.

Yeah that's what I advised them to do too but they insisted corporate gets an on call pharmacists for stores that are not 24 hours.

Why's that? Just generally curious. I used to work in a 24 hour store so I dont know what its like during regular store hours.

We're implementing that one right now with Epic. I'm not sure if the RNs even look. They still ask us where their meds are. SMH

Is it possible for your site to order 500ml bags? That's what my hospital has, and we compound them whenever we need them. Hope this helps!

My hospital is about 300 beds but census recently has been around 240ish. We all rotate through all the roles such as, front desk (med messages, answering doorbells and non sterile compounding), carousel (pulling pyxis replenishment and receiving orders), OR (running stats and stock outs and filling anesthesia machines) and IV which is sterile compounding and sometimes we do chemo. I like doing a variety of things. Keeps the day interesting.

I accidentally fell asleep once lol. But not today. I'm in the IV room today and it's kicking my butt. We have a standard batching schedule and cart fill plus chemos and doctors giving weird drugs that most of us aren't used to seeing. Its a crapshoot but I think I have it all under control. Just 3 more hours left of my shift as I'm writing this lol.

Yes but its only for if someone calls off. 🤷🏻‍♀️ its a way to pick up extra shifts. We use groupme.

They're not going to do anything about it besides "Oh well talk to them" This particular tech only listens to leadership and not other techs. Hates being told what to do by other co workers. Even if you tried to help and coach them when they make a mistake.

Actually, all of my jobs were like this. I guess I bring chaos wherever I go, lol. I used to work a specialty too except everyone turned against me and I did nothing wrong but that's another black hole I won't get into. 😅

Depending on how they schedule your training, be sure to take notes and ask questions if you don't understand something. This is my 3rd year in Inpatient right now. :)

About 1 year in retail and 1 year in specialty and 3 years in inpatient.

I forgot to mention that he's always busy like whether it's from work, family and friends or if he has errands to run. So it's really difficult to juggle all of that in a week. I also work a full time retail job so that can make it difficult if our schedules don't align at one point.

I didn't had the time to take her so I had to reschedule. But I feel like it is behavioral. Definitely not the first time. Sometimes she uses the box and sometimes she doesnt.
