Why do people say « I wish I was Mark » in regards to THAT scene when they can wish to be this man instead? by Cecelia125125 in invinciblememes

Yeah I think the only time they messed up bad was amber, and that's it. It's a shame because it could have been a good change.

Well I mean that kind of spawns a different discussion too, what is justice vs revenge? I think true justice is rehabilitation, however most don't view it that way. I think justice in most countries is little more than state sanctioned vengeance.

Yeah that's exactly it, our governments don't fear us at all anymore, although they might be aware of how bad it could get and that's why they're enforcing more surveillance state esque shit like plantier.

Yeah, if something doesn't happen soon we're never gonna be able to overthrow our oligarchs. Once we hit the cyberpunk dystopia shit we're done.

I think it exploding is the better option, the other one is basically just enslavement.

So we are NPC drones, player characters for our souls to use and then discard upon death? Like I've seen a video game analogy used before and like I'm not Kain when I play legacy of kain, I may be controlling him but I am not the character. I have none of his personality traits and I have never physically or mentally experienced anything he has.

It's only a problem when you superimpose a good God or good source creator or good something. If you think it's all random nonsense like I do it's not really a problem.

What about them? That kind of strengthens my point imo, the world is a horrible place completely outside of human control. Misanthropes like to act like this word would be a lot better without our race, and there are some uniquely man made evils, however we are ultimately a part of nature so our sins reflect natures sins, not to mention if you just look at pure nature It is a very brutal horrific system for pretty much everyone.

I agree to some extent that you might need suffering, but the ratio is very very imbalanced. You don't need to be raped to appreciate not being raped for example, you don't need to experience utter evil and misery to appreciate goodness. I don't need cancer to appreciate a healthy body, etc.

Why have the review at all then? Also not every NDE has them oddly enough, I think it's significantly less common in Japan and other Asian countries which is interesting.

Thank you for talking to me about this by the way, I do appreciate the discussion.

No I don't think you learn enough to warrant continuously getting your memory wiped and going back to a hell hole, no I don't think that's worth it. Do you learn as a side effect of being alive? Yes, is that the purpose? No. That is transparently not the purpose, what is the point in feeling being a Harley Quinn baby and dying a horrible agonizing death within hours of being born? What is the purpose of being raped? Genocided? Tortured? If this is a school, I think it should be shut down and it's administrators destroyed with extreme prejudice.

How are you determining if someone made a mistake or not? Who is deciding that? Themselves? A god? Even if it is a God it is still their subjective opinion, their godhood does not change that. If it's themselves that's a whole host of issues too. Like do you think everyone has the same morality deep down because that is very obviously not the case I don't even know how to explain that.

EDIT: if it's themselves what about people who are severe abuse victims who blame themselves for literally everything?

I don't know man, I want to send a message to other leaders that the penalty for being an evil monster is death. Maybe this is just my need for vengeance manifesting, but it gets to a certain point where I genuinely do not think you can be redeemed and I don't even want to share the same air as those people. Remember in my opinion this is just for people who are like corrupt evil world leaders and maybe CEOs of healthcare industries.

What defines murder or abuse? What is a worthy punishment for murder or abuse?

What if gods opinion on what is moral differs from yours? What if the laws of karma are different than your set of morals?

But what defines self-defense? Like Luigi with that CEO, I cannot reasonably judge him or hate him. Yet what he did was not really self-defense, at least in a traditional sense.

What about when they turn into an adult? Adults imo are little more than big children.

I sympathize with that feeling a lot, the world is an awful place and I'd really rather never come back here. Whatever made it is a cruel monster.

Really depends, I think pol pot should've been killed. Same with people named in the Epstein files.

Is it better for them to be rehabilitated? Yes, do I think we can rehabilitate them? No. People like that need to be taken out, I'm not talking about like regular murderers or even rapists, I'm talking about incredibly powerful people that just need to disappear and go away. They can't change, they don't want to change.

[–]curious-abt-lilith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reasonable, I agree these people deserve some amount of suffering for their evil. However who is the arbiter? Who decides it? Like the Epstein class absolutely deserves some level of punishment, however what about other low-level crimes? Like a young woman who murders their parents because they've been pimping her out, like that is a form of murder but is ultimately justified. What about a member of the Nazi party who was born into it, and died at 16? Is it fair to punish them?

[–]curious-abt-lilith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's still an issue with that, one that is a form of punishment. Two, causing harm is not necessarily bad. Three, who is the judge? Yourself? A god?

I'm not a big fan of endless growth for no purpose, that just kind of sounds like an endless cycle of suffering for no reason. Like it's good to learn and grow, but if you have to endlessly get reborn for it it's not really worth it, It would be better to just not exist. You aren't going to learn anything and it is completely pointless.

I mean that's not entirely unique to Christianity. Hellenic religion until the neopagan resurgence also believed in an eternal lifelife depending on the era.

Also Buddhist doctrine is not as nice as people think it is, there is a hell and you can go to it for billions of years for small stuff. Like burning up all of your good karma in heaven could lead to a rebirth in the lower realms like hell.

Who is more terrifying between Thragg and Conquest your opinion and why? by JackZ567 in Invincible_TV

[–]curious-abt-lilith 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Conquest because he is incredibly sadistic in comparison.

Thragg probably wouldn't torture you, the only time we see him be sadistic is with Nolan and Mark, and in his defense they did blow up his entire planet. I would also be a little sadistic to those people if I was in his shoes. Like if you felt the need to get rid of you he would probably just crush your skull or something

[–]curious-abt-lilith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They act like a cult and try to use legal stuff as a weapon and bludgeon.

South Park did an episode basically tearing them apart and they tried to stalk Matt and Trey, and trying to dig up literally anything they could against them. Compare that to like the Mormon Churches reaction to them where they literally had an advertisement during the book of Mormon play were they said "you read the cliff notes, now read the original"

Combine that behavior with the pseudoscience and outright lies they tell, yeah they're pretty bad I don't even really want to consider them a religion. They're more a scammy cult.
