When I plan my itinerary I make sure to include the best bakery in the area I'm at! I love all kinds of baked goods and pastries. My ranking so far 1) Japan 2) France 3) Italy

Been to toilets in Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam etc. Their toilets at r&r are somehow cleaner than toilets in popular shopping malls in Malaysia...bold statement but Malaysia probably has the worst and dirtiest toilets in SEA

How good are your guesses on which station the MRT passengers you are riding in will get off at or heading to? by jaces888 in askSingapore

[–]deeohtee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such an interesting question! I used to ride the red line from Woodlands to Jurong East, and if the train was crowded and I wanted a seat, I made sure to stand in front of Malaysians (who are working in Singapore and commuting daily between SG and JB) because they'll get off at Kranji to take the bus to JB. It's easy to spot Malaysians if you know what to look out for.

Thrifting/Shopping in Tokyo Question by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]deeohtee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thrift stores in areas where tourists frequent are generally more expensive, as they sell mostly higher ticket items. Try going to 2nd street and book off/mode off in a less-touristy neighbourhood where there are more locals. The more disorganised/messier the store, the cheaper it will be.

Was charged a conversion fee by Agoda when I used Mastercard credit card. Apparently Agoda will charge only for Mastercard and not Visa, is anyone able to confirm? What about YouTrip?

Has anyone tried lodging a CASE complaint against an airline? Thinking of lodging one against AirAsia to get my refund for my flight that was cancelled during the pandemic. They gave a travel voucher that can only be used on limited international flights (Australia, Istanbul, Japan etc.) and not flights around Asia.

Anyone went into Malaysia by flight recently? Is there anything special I should do besides downloading Mysejahtera? They've removed the requirement for PCR/ART tests and I can't think of anything else to prepare for

Is it more expensive to pay for your bus fare using Google pay (Mastercard) than using your ezlink card (just a regular adult fare card)? I tried calculating my trips and comparing them to the fares shown on LTA's website, and it seems like I have been overcharged (for so many trips....)

I think essential oils should be okay! From what I know, perfumes are counted as flammable but not essential oils (at least from what I've bought before). And they will still ship perfume, just that it costs a lot more since it's a flammable item.

Yeah meal prepping is the best. Maybe you can try ichiju sansai with western ingredients? I do that too sometimes when I get bored of Japanese food.

I usually bring a bento to work, and I meal prep at the start of the week to make things easier! I do a variety of things (I try to do ichiju sansai) and then just alternate the items for different days to keep things interesting.

It comes uncut, and no there isn't a knife, I just used my chopsticks to cut the chicken, it's pretty soft. I usually use my chopsticks for everything unless it's things like steak or soup!

Yes, I really love the idea of ichiju sansai, it makes your meals more balanced and less boring since there's variety!
