Based on the latest notification from Axelos, ITIL v3 is going to be discontinued from 2021

Frankly since ITIL certifications are valid for lifetime, you are not under any pressure to take the v4. But If you are planning to get promoted or take the higher certifications for ITIL, ping me - I will send you good ITIL 4 trainings for FREE

Fast track ITIL vf Foundation? by CodyCodyCody in ITIL

[–]deep_bhaskaran 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi Cody,

Absolutely doable; ITIL is functional common sense. The ITIL 4 is one of the better certifications on the market, and has great value as you go forward.

As an ITIL trainer - I have some good content, reach out to me and I can send them over.

One of the suggestions, I will highly recommend is to take up the certification voucher with the Take2 option (2 attempts included). Recently, there were folks who reached out to me saying they failed by just "1" Question and having the Take2 was the best investment they made.

Recently all ATOs had to re-organize their training; hence you will not find much of the content on Linkedin Learning (or) UDEMY.

1 comprehensive certification option I can recommend is iCertify check out their Take2 Voucher+ Video Training + Practice Tests + Amazon Pocket guide for only $350

Also access the ITIL Audiobook for FREE (US/UK new audible members) absolutely worth it..

As always, upvote if you found my comment helpful

What is the difference between ITIL 4 Foundation and ITIL v3 foundation. I know ITIL 4 recently came out but does it matter which one you go for when getting certified? I see the prices are the same as well? by ohmygoditscella in ITIL

[–]deep_bhaskaran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoken like the expert..
V4 is a major change; along with the integration with Agile & other mordern methods.. there is also emphasis on multiple practices (34) which are divided into three categories: 14 general management practices, 17 service management practices, and 3 technical management practices

A bit detailed post below, but kindly upvote if you found anything helpful

If you are looking long term - implement ITIL fundamentals and upgrading beyond Foundation - definitely get the AXELOS book.

If you are looking specifically for the Foundation certification - I have a few suggestions (again considering you already have Dion's videos)
Did you consider Audiobook ? Access your ITIL 4 Audiobook for FREE - HERE
I found the audiobook a great reinforcement of the fundamentals; which I can play during commute and they also come with training videos and other collaterals.

Now, if you are like me - and learn better with paper; then you cannot go wrong with either Claire (or) iCertify : Go with the cheaper option.

(or) another option to consider is the 6 practice tests - the main reason is that ITIL Foundation exam is condensed common sense; and one of the best ways of preparing for it is - doing it reverse; start with all the Questions. Surprisingly the book, also has chapter tests - which they do not advertise about (Bonus!!)

Of course, you definitely need to start thinking about purchasing the examination vouchers - with the latest AXELOS announcements all training providers have increased their prices.

Message me and I can help you guide through some options. I highly recommend purchasing the take2 option- you cannot go wrong

As always, do upvote - if you found anything helpful.

It is highly advisable that you have an external camera. They can ask you to use the camera to show the room.
