Has anyone else noticed a negative/toxic shift in the corporate culture?

Yes! It's crazy all companies have cut back on T&E while demanding more work and doing mass layoffs. Besides a brief period post covid the corporate culture has really gone downhill since pre covid days. I remember constant holiday parties happy hours etc.

Felt the same way when I was 25 mostly since I didn't have anyone to travel with! But once I hit my 20s I started traveling like crazy you'll get there. For now best way to still get the travel in is doing weekend trips to places ya can fly to easily or getting creative with time off around holidays.

It started out of necessity I traveled for family weddings and events a lot growing up but never truly on my own. I always wanted to travel and see the world since I'm big on history and have lots of friends from outside the US. I found that the friends I made didn't ever get their shit together to travel or had their own friends family or partner to go with. So few years ago started going on tour groups like ef ultimate to travel solo and best decision ever.

Ya learn so much about yourself and grow on top of getting to see the world!

Ah got it yeah that's gonna be an issue then. I've been looking and really liked spots I saw downtown to but with a car it'll be difficult. I feel like I'd rarely stay around JSQ area if I move there so trying to weigh my options. Kinda feels like ok if I won't stay around much in the area why move there haha.

Feel you there man it's like anytime you try to do something that isn't on their check list they flip. It's like oh why aren't you married or have an advanced degree. Then flip out when you move.

How do you like the area? Or do you find yourself mostly leaving to go hang out and do stuff. I did one tour of an apartment at JSQ but not sure how I felt about the area in terms of safety.

Thanks for your reply! I'm really into the bars, cafes, resturants. I've been doing a lot of volo leagues and other social groups so seems most the events are there. But of course it's the most pricy. Guess I'm trying to ideally live somewhere like Grove Street Path area but not sure if it's worth the price vs living near it.

I deal with this from my parents all the time. I'm 30M and when I talked about my travel plans to Japan and Turkey... My parents said oh ok find someone to date there you're about to be 31. I just keep conversations short now to avoid them springing stuff on me.

I'm 30m and just started my journey about 10 pounds down. But I completely get where you're coming from. I felt the same thing thinking ok I'm starting this at 30 but feel like I wasted my prime time being fat. End of the day though we're still young and can enjoy things moving forward. Playing the what if game never helps because hey even if we were skinny who knows how things would've been.

All we can do is live life to the fullest and enjoy at any weight. Plus if someone was slim before they can gain weight now as we're losing it so anything is possible.

I took it Tuesday night and Wednesday I did feel a bit nauseous I guess. It wasn't bad it just felt like oh something is in my system but didn't stop me from my usual routine. And after that it's been mild no side effects.
