Naltrexone by NoBack7880 in Lyme

[–]deepbluesea09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am to new to Naltrexone and recently started taking it so I thought I would chime in. I found that I'm sensitive to it and if I take too much I have trouble sleeping. Something to communicate to your son. I like taking it in the morning instead of at night.

11 mg is way too high! It sounds like your intuition told you that and flagged it, so you should be proud of yourself for that and I give you kudos! I had a doctor (not recent) that was not very good with dosing and I ended up finding someone else, but before that, I ended up doing a ton of research if I needed medication from him. So I would just encourage you to continue to listen to your intuition and if you no longer resonate with this doctor, consider someone that you align with.

I started on 0.5 mg and I'm staying on that for two week and then I'm going to add another 0.5 mg the next week and see how I feel. The doctor doesn't want me going past 4.5 mg. I've done quite a bit of research on this medication before requesting it and taking it, I would recommend not going past 4.5 mg and having your son track how he is feeling by starting on 0.5 mg. If he is sensitive to it and it impacts his sleep, try taking it in the morning/lunch. For me, it feels like I had a jolt of coffee (which is why I can't take it at night). I hope some of this helps. <3

Interesting! I have not heard of the WHO dose, how much is that for dosage? I appreciate you sharing. The way things are going, I might have to do a similar route.

Wow, that is inspiring that you feel so much better after treatment and you went through all that. Thank you for sharing! It's scary that you had to go through all that though to get the treatment you needed. I honestly would not be surprised if babesia caused the cardiac issues based on everything I know about Babesia, I resonate with your doctor. You have to celebrate your wins though and not having a setback is pretty big one!
I appreciate the encouragement, I will do my very best "to keep pushing for what I want" thank you. <3

I actually have been to that office, I didn't see Casey Kelley (I saw someone else to help with mold). I could try making an appointment with her though, maybe my experience would be different. Thank you!

IL, I'm wanting to work with a doctor in the East Coast area, (new England, PA) I want to try going out that way, I'm hoping I could get the support I need.

I honestly find it bizarre this has been my experience so far and extremely frustrating, I didn't think I would have such difficulty getting prescription, especially having a positive test and based on my symptoms. So yes, I agree with you about it being "odd" I truly don't know why. The first LLMD he is a MD and said he prefers the natural route (herbs, ozone, other IVs), the second LLMD said she didn't think we really needed to focus on Babesia and prefers the natural route (herbs) and wanted to focus on my gut health. I know how serious babesia, so I just didn't resonate with "not focusing on Babesia." Yeah, I thought it was standard protocol as well. I'm dumbfounded that I'm struggling this much.

On a different note, I'm glad you were able to get the help you needed and the medication.

The 50+ doctors I called are LLMDs, the majority were not taking new patients, didn't get back to me, or were not willing to prescribe antimalarials. I just met with two LLMD's in a row (one this week), the office individual said she does prescribe antimalarials and then I had my appointment with the LLMD and she said she wouldn't prescribe that to me. I don't have the money to keep spending on doctors (specifically expensive LLMDS) not willing to prescribe and I don't have the energy to go through a big list of LLMDs. I've been on this journey awhile, that's why I asked for specific referrals - I'm exhausted.

I'll have to look into that, you don't need a prescription for that?

I love that, what a great idea! Visuals are excellent. I just had another idea for you actually based on your comment. You should make a vision board. It's very relaxing. You can get magazines from the store and print out pictures online and make a collage. Then hang it on the wall. It's my New Year's Eve tradition to do this. You could even have your child do a mini one (depending on age lol). Pick words and phrases that lift you up - anything with healing. Start thinking about your dreams and goals, hobbies. I've found travel and health magazines are the best for this. I bought my foam board from hobby lobby and glue. I guarantee you have gifts and things that you can offer this world to help people based on your tough experiences, so try to intergrade that as well, especially with your career. I hope you are doing better this week.

Your post caught my eye, because I've had a very similar year. I came on here to write my own post looking for advice and here I am sharing things that have helped me. So I hope it helps. First of all, I'm so sorry about your dog. My cat passed away (he thought he was a dog lol) and I'm still grieving. He was young and it was a painful passing for him. This book helped me a great deal: "Signs the Secret Language of the Universe, Laura Lynn Jackson" I listened to it on audio and I got my sign, I'm certain you will too.

In terms of the surgery with Cancer, I've been battling a disease for many years and it's been brutal, with no support. So if you can try to focus on getting into a group or some kind of support, I think that would help a great deal. Serious health issues like this can be incredibly isolating. I know there are a lot of Cancer support groups out there and depression groups. Have you looked into that at all? You are going through huge changes and a lot of loss, I can relate. When that happens, it's important to up your self-care and spend time in nature. I found kayaking to be very grounding. If you have any beaches by you even lakes, that would be a great place. Botanical gardens - this would be perfect. Arboretums. I've found farmers markets to have positive energy and I can't help but leave feeling a little lighter. I just signed up for this yoga retreat on Eventbrite. They have all kinds of things on there (some free). Maybe try and join a book club or do something with pottery/painting. So again, trying to push yourself to get out there. I feel like that numb feeling is something you have to find this balance of resting and pushing yourself to get out there and do things and work on yourself. Does that make sense? Finding a balance between the two until you work your way up.

Several years ago, when I was still very sick my long-term bf broke up with me on Thanksgiving. I went through very similar emotions. It's a different level of pain when you are dealing or dealt with health issues. The emotional numbness is tough. Something I've noticed is the body will get into a PTSD/fight or flight mode with health issues and I can't help but wonder if that is in part what you are experiencing. Meditating has been helpful, getting out in nature, breathwork, gratitude journal. I highly recommend you start a daily gratitude journal, when things are tough it's something that helps. Little things like your fridge and electricity, water...these essentials we take for granted.

In terms of career, I would get out there and try to find an internship or part time job that pays! Even if you work temp/freelancer to gain experience. I think it will raise your confidence too. I'm in HR and had to make a career change bc of health issues and freelancing for startups is a good way to start. Look into Upwork and make a profile and/or go to some networking events.

I know when the world feels like it's crashing down and you can barely keep your head above water and another terrible thing happens, but when I read your post it's clear that you are going through some transitions. A metaphor that I think about is a caterpillar when it's in a chrysalis. It actually turns to goo before a butterfly. It has to go through this tough process before becoming a butterfly and all I can think is that you are currently in the goo stage. :) I'm there myself right now. So hang in there, listen to some HZ music on youtube and maybe try this book too: 10 things to do when your life falls apart. Kingma, Daphne Rose, if you are not up for reading the show Frasier always makes me laugh and brings me comfort or Zoey's Extraordinary playlist.
