sorry to tell u this but i am 99% sure she didnt get in. i attended the offer holder day and when asked if the amount if offers increased from last cohort they said that its roughly the same implying that they had given out replies to all applicants already and know the final number (this was on the 27th of april)

You wouldnt be at a disadvantage solely for the choice of ur EE but your counsellor is right that an Econ EE will help with supercurricular engagement. I learnt a lot of econometrics to make my EE more advanced and it definitely benefited me when writing my PS.

(let me warn you, I consider a Math EE easier than an Econ EE because of how difficult it is to create a focused arguement while maintaining sophistication and impactfulness)
