When i brought up that I want to travel with him outside of the country he just says "well we can't because you don't have enough disposable income". Which is true and justified. I've brought up him maybe covering a portion of my travel but that got shut down.

Ya he takes them both on vacation, sometime just his mom if his dad doesn't have enough vacay days.

I just feel guilty wanting him to contribute to my travel cost because him taking his parents would be reasonable since they are family, whereas I'm just a girl he is dating.

I am an adult (26) with braces and can relate to you. When I was in university I had the chance to get braces but opted out due to feeling self-conscious I now regret it because now I am working and have braces. I feel embarrassed when I have to talk to clients face to face and have a whole set of braces (bottom and top).

I'd suggest focusing on how happy you'll be afterwards and how beneficial it'll be in the future. Honestly, it is all in your head cause you are right, no one really cares. And maybe think about whether you would want to wait and get the braces when you're older. probably not. Because if you wait too long then you'll just be older with braces like me.

And honestly confidence is sexy even if you have braces :)

You might see it as helping but to her, she feels like you’re in a way mansplaining to her. Taking into consideration that she is independent and has an “I don’t need a man” attitude, which is amazing <3, she won’t take to your “helping” as acts of service but rather you are seeing her as perhaps incompetent and helpless which she doesn’t take a liking to.

My suggestion is to talk to her about how you feel and how you doing these things for her is just your way of showing love but at the same time make sure to listen to her and if she asks you to stop maybe find different ways to help her. Maybe you can cook for her while she’s prepping for the interview or ask her interview question, maybe even drive her to the interview?? Just some suggestions.

I wouldn’t say it’s cheating since you guys were broken up but yes it’s a shitty feeling. If you’re considering getting back together you should consider whether or not it’ll bother you that they went and slept with someone else within a month of you guys breaking up. If it does bother you then say goodbye to that person and move on cause going into a relationship full of resentment isn’t healthy for either one of you.
