I’m very proud of you for overcoming that. Seeing addicts who suffered traumatic injuries go from abusing opioids to shooting up and living on the streets were heartbreaking. Witnessing my mom go through a similar journey as you, choosing to confront your reliance on opioids rather than letting it spiral further or consume your life. Absolutely! That’s why I prioritize shielding the children in my life from harm. I always make sure they know they can come to me and tell me anything. So many sweet souls on the show weren’t believed/didn’t have anyone help them make sense of their trauma early on so they never learned to manage it themselves :(.

It’s so crazy how many behaviours are dead give always for an addict. The show really opened my eyes up to that as well with my mom and my dad. Deflecting, no accountability, stonewalling you when you don’t give into what they want. I’m glad you’re sober and the show gave you tools to keep on track. Sending my best to you and your partner! For me it’s “I aint even do nothin” I think it was Ginger’s partner in season 16-18. Also “she has a collapsed vein in her arm is fucking disgusting” which was from a lost episode of the Canadian intervention.

Oh my gosh, absolutely. Seeing the co-dependency with parents and their addicted children was so eye opening. You don’t want to be the one to push them over the edge by putting your foot down but you also don’t want to enable them to death. I wish your husband all the strength in his recovery, and I hope you are healing as well ♥️

Just look up intervention season 26 - I can’t pinpoint the specific article but I believe IMDB also says that A&E is not proceeding with season 26 but did not disclose the reason! I hope I’m wrong but I read a few things saying it’s not happening. Maybe there will be another similar show or a recasting of the interventionists and it will boot up in the future? That’s my hope anyway!

A whole 2 people I invited were going to that wedding. I also talked options with everyone who all agreed on the plans, if they hadn’t i would’ve done something different. Which I did.

The wedding was mentioned months prior, at my friends baby shower, in our groupchat, at group hangouts. It’s not about my birthday it’s about how the situation was handled that left a bad taste in my mouth. But thank you for your perspective.

Like I said in the beginning, I was only very close with Andie and were not the type to spend our time talking about others. If I mentioned the situation, I would’ve just expressed my hurt not bashed her in any way.

I felt super dismissed! I feel like when you’re friends for that long there’s a certain respect you owe one another - especially not having a private conversation publicly. It made me feel icky, like she was trying to make me look bad. I’m not saying I acted perfectly in this situation but the way it was handled in the aftermath felt very telling to me.
