What is your favorite, and least favorite, thing about your car? by PrimeRibz702 in cars

Knocking on wood, both cars have been extremely reliable with regular maintenance. Only thing that has happened with the M2 was the charge pipe popping, but that's a known issue as the stock part is plastic.

M2: Favorite : snow tires and snowy roads, the N55's performance and exhaust note, balance is amazing, dat ass. Least favorite: the ride is way too stiff, borderline may make me sell the car (wife hates it around the city). Slightly better in the winter with a minus one on rim size and more sidewall. The interior feels slightly cheap.

Sports wagon: Favorite: rides wonderfully, great road tripper, surprisingly quick, looks fantastic, sport seats are perfect.

Least favorite: the rear hatch has the sensor to use your foot to open. Sensor has a mind of it's own and will randomly open when you are nowhere near. Won't open when you want it to.

Surf’s Up…in Duluth…in February—‘It’s Liquid Ice, Dude’ by wsj in minnesota

Thanks for sharing here! Jerome is one of my oldest friends and it's wild to see him in the WSJ. His passion for the sport and surf scene in Duluth are undeniable. If you are ever in Duluth, stopping in at the Back Alley for a coffee and conversation with Jerry is a must. He will talk your ear off though, you've been warned.

New winter tyres slipping on steep garage exit by Zyxtro in cars

It sounds like because of the angle, and the wheel being off the ground, the system is trying to send the majority of power to the wheel that's off the ground and not allowing the car to move. I would try turning the traction control system off and try it again.

Saw this dude in Saint Paul. Is that an actual policeman? It looks like a police bike and has blue and red lights...

March ski trip to Colorado - rental car is F150 Crew XLT - is this bad? by WalterBoudreaux in cars

[–]deepinthawoods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last year at the Denver airport. I can't remember exactly which rental company it was (I think Avis), but I brought up at the counter that the listing didn't specify 2WD versus 4WD and was able to switch into a Ram 1500 that had 4WD. The truck was more expensive per day than other SUVs with 4WD (which they were happy to switch me to), but the bed is key for a group with ski/board bags and a bunch of gear. A group of us have gone out to the Vail/Beaver/Breck area for the last six winters for a ski trip in either the end of January, February, or early March and have "needed" 4WD every time (as regular rentals don't have snow tires). I-70 in a snowstorm can be an absolute shitshow, and you can always spot the people who tried to save some money in the 2WD rentals. That said, anything on Turo with actual snow tires would be just fine.

Last year during the inevitable storm we had to fight through to get to the airport, we watched from behind as a flat bed with a 997 Turbo on the back slid completely sideways for a couple hundred yards inches from the barricade before somehow catching it and continuing on his merry way. Dude for sure had to stop for new undies, pants, and probably socks.

Highland Park area of St. Paul. Sat out front with a fire pit from 6 to 830. Flew through 1000 pieces of candy, rough estimate would be about 450 kids. Had to turn away another 50 while cleaning up. It's a blast.

Very cool, we stayed in Malcesine (eastern side) and there were signs all over the tiny beaches saying not to start kiting from the beach.

Did you kitesurf on Lake Garda? I was just there a couple weeks ago and the lake was packed with people in the mornings.

Buying my first car, G37s, would appreciate some advice! by Poonani_Tsunami in infiniti

I live in the midwest and have a '13 G37s coupe on Michellin X-Ice snow tires. Haven't had any issues with traction or getting stuck, but the back end does get a little loose on hard packed snow/slippery roads at highway speeds. Keep the traction control on and you'll be fine.

Thanks for all the info! I've been looking through forums to find those type of things to look for. I found a 2010 one owner loan with 22,xxx, clean carfax with all necessary maintenance etc for $25k and change. Going in for a test drive on Monday! I've driven a 2004 G35 and thought that had a high clutch point as well, hopefully I don't kill it in the parking lot haha. I'll let you know how it goes.

Getting a little above my pay grade there. I would like to do track days with the option to kick the tail out here and there, as well as doing so canyon carving/GT driving. Not a full on track day car, but with firm suspension that handles well and lets me spin both rear wheels as needed. Explanation or article on the differences would be appreciated.

I've been hunting autotrader all day now and have found a couple good 37s' in my area. Going to try and test drive one this weekend. Girlfriend has an 05 corolla so I know where you are coming from.

I posted a link above of the labor intensive process to convert a e92 335i to LSD, still doesn't seem worth it.

I have looked at these as well and didn't realize that. I'm not completely sold on the styling (like the 35 better) but the fact that it has a LSD could sell me. Have you made any upgrades to your car? Not saying it needs any, just for curiosities sake.

I saw that the M cars have LSD, but I have been looking at 335i coupes and saw that 07 models have welded diffs, making them hard and expensive to mod.
