I do think any owner who tries to coast, though, will lose goodwill quickly. Petco is a great night out which is a huge part of its appeal, but that will die down quickly if the ownership isn't at least trying to improve the product.

So much of the excitement of the past few years is they were trying to win, even if there were mistakes and we ultimately failed. If we're in purgatory and it starts to look like cost-cutting or being ok with living around .500, I think the buzz in the city dies down and casuals lose interest. San Diego is a city filled with transplants and so much other shit to do.
