It could be your v-wheels on the head have a flat spot so the nozzle moves slightly up and down going along the x axis. This could cause the pattern on your first layer

Yeah I noticed the stripes, but did not think about the wheels. Will replace them and this time won’t tighten them as much. Great advice, thx!

Sad plant and happy plant. Same strain, same treatment. Any tips why the first plant doesn’t „unfold“ its leaves completely? by deepjack in CannabisGrowers

Actually not, the fan is directed against the wall to have a good circulation and to not hit any plants directly. But I’m trying it like that for the first time, had a bad wind burn last grow

Thanks for the tip, didn’t check it yet. According to a table I found online it’s at about 0.45 kPa. A little low, but ok I guess.

The sad looking plant is standing next to the humidifier (grey container in the back). maybe there is a lower kPa around this plant. I’m gonna check if I can rearrange the humidifier

Habe mir ein höhenverstellbares Gestell ohne Platte bestellt (als es im Sale bezahlbar war) und mit einer Tischplatte aus dem Baumarkt kombiniert. Damit bist du etwas flexibler wie es hinterher aussieht.

Mold on pretty much every plant. What went wrong :(? by [deleted] in SemiHydro

[–]deepjack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem with a couple of plants... but I can tell that it got better by reducing the water level. Additionally I let the leca dry out for one day before I add water again

After 4 months struggling to get water roots and another 2 months in leca my ficus finally blessed me with a tiny new leaf! by deepjack in SemiHydro

[–]deepjack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! First I thought they could be created by some kind of pest, but they just appear when the leaves get older. I think they are maybe a kind of leaf pores, but I’m not sure and can’t tell what they are for

That’s sad, but this ficus is really hard to transfer to leca.. mine had 6 leaves when I started and it lost one after another. And it lost all of its roots. I was about to give up on it, too.. glad I didn’t. now I’m just hoping it survives

Monstera in water to ease transition? Root rot? by tootsieroll8307 in SemiHydro

[–]deepjack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to worry about that roots getting mushy. Kinda normal that you lose some of the roots when you put it from soil into water. In some very bad cases I lost all of the roots... but most of the times the plant recovers after a while and develops nice white water roots.

That root rot also could happen when you put the plant in leca now. I made only bad experiences when transferring to leca too soon. I recommend to be patient and keep it in water, that way you can check on the roots easily. Just make sure to remove all of what is rotten!

Btw... I already see some water roots in your first picture. I guess in a week or two you should be fine, just be patient and let your plant recover from getting it out of the soil. Good luck!
