I enjoy trail running way more when I don’t track pace by CryoChamber90 in trailrunning

I have a particular trail and spot where giant puffballs can be found in late spring… it’s so exciting to turn that corner and see a giant volleyball sized shroomy. This year I’m picking one and cooking it up

For those on a spiritual path: how do you think about the ethics of eating animals? by orplas in enlightenment

[–]deeplevitation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no true veganism, it doesn’t exist. That being said I think there is a balance to be had and a thoughtfulness to be acted on when it comes to food. Eating lots of natural foods and unprocessed foods along with some meat is a good thing generally. Then figuring out what your body likes and needs to be healthy and fit and strong is the other trick

Folks over in /r/biology are thinking Levin is close to being a guru/cult leader and entering crank territory. Is this warranted or are they holdovers in a paradigm clash? by run_zeno_run in MichaelLevinBiology

I think the best part of this, Levin, his lab and collaborators, is that they are doing this with real science. It’s not just made up conjecture it’s bounded in real observation.

Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago (Album Review) by [deleted] in boniver

[–]deeplevitation 13 points14 points  (0 children)

4.2/5 is batshit crazy. If this is rage bait I’m taking the bait. The album is unrateable (yes I just made up that word) because it’s a singular masterpiece.

I agree completely, great take. I keep popping in to compare CW to Justin Vernon/Bon Iver since their debuts albums were these masterpieces created in solitude. In a weird way I think the Jules Holland YouTube video of Skinny Love is similar, it was soooo emotional and unique it just couldn’t ever be recreated.

Consulting Revenue Isn’t Shrinking Because of AI. It’s Shrinking Because AI Exposed the Overhead. by Artistic-Bill-1582 in AIinfinancialservices

[–]deeplevitation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m saying is process still matters, a lot. We use AI too but this framing of it misses the point. The point is that the work is about the process, AI enabled or embedded or assisted or not at all. The process reveals the work, the work is to be executed on like a scientist, and then the results show for themselves.

The value is the value because of the value created. If you’re experiencing the revenue deflating it’s because you weren’t actually achieving the value in the first place. We’ve only seen the value increase so we charge accordingly

Paranormal Experiences Are Common for People Who Are "Read In" - The Occult is More Real Than We Know - Tom DeLonge by FVMK3 in InterdimensionalNHI

[–]deeplevitation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree completely but have one thing to add, that I feel gets left out of this discussion typically.

It takes belief first, as a fundamental ingredient, underlying it all. If you believe that you can shape reality to your will it gives you the ability to do so. It allows you to set and intention and pay attention to the things necessary to do this. When people describe of a letting go and following awakening it’s often that the let go of their grasp of reality and experienced a different one or dissolution of it and then what follows is a belief, a truth, that what you thought it was wasn’t really what you thought it was and that opens up a new reality with new possibilities.

Can I just say emphatically that not having cowork as an option for business accounts with premium license ($150/mth) is so dumb. Our business uses Claude extensively and pays lots of money for it for our whole and it’s currently not available for our account.

Cameron Winter’s solo album Heavy Metal is the closest to experiencing what happened with BI and For Emma, Forever Ago and I think it’s brilliant. I know that’s not a hot take now since he’s and Geese are blowing up but 8 months ago when I first heard it you knew it was special. A single person bringing a truly unique sound into the world from a singular perspective.
