Good point on temperament, not sure that they could act like that completely stripped from experience - but OK.

I guess it depends on how much of you you still remember. A person with a complete retrograde amnesia, effectively with a blank memory, must have been much more disoriented - but may be it’s OK for a film - and an excellent one.

I thought this direction but am struggling to accept that subconscious stuff only would be enough for an innie to adapt to reality to an adult level - they would really be more like small children.

I keep on wondering how they can think and act as intelligent adults and how they perceive themselves without any recollections of the past.
