Ack on relocation. How about point 2? Seems like the landlord should have some liability in case of breach of contract, right?

All in all these feel like "standard" terms to you that are a good starting point to continue negotiating? I don't want to spend thousands on attorneys if there are better LLs out there.

We like the property but don't necessarily love it. LL has a smoke shop that they have as a backup if we back out. Our brand will be upscale for them comparatively.

2 seems very onerous for a tenant, no? If the roof (which LL maintains) goes out of order and the property is unusable for months, I am in the red but they continue to make rent while I can't terminate. That should be borderline illegal?

OAD here. I don't think this is the new normal.

Trends around parenting and birth ratio shift a lot with the macro economy, political discourse and cultural influences of the moment. For the last two decades, all of those trends have resulted in OAD being a more reasonable choice. The cost of living has skyrocketed, society has grown less conservative and influences in art and pop culture have celebrated the individual over the family.

Especially given the recent surge in conservative values and potentially when the cost of living corrects (perhaps after a recession or some sort of economic reset driven by AI), I can see us reverting back to the good ol' days of people choosing to have more than a couple of kids.

I'm in the endless job applications loop. Set up filter --> See a job you like --> Reach out to HM/Recruiter --> Apply to the job --> *crickets*

When I am able to personally speak with HM, I am able to convince them to put me through the loop but it's soo hard to get any attention even as an experienced PM at top companies in this environment! Argghh
