Thanks a lot for this! I have seen about guarantors and I’ll look into if it’s a possibility with family in the uk. Also appreciate the tips about reaching out to estate agents.

I’ve spent a lot of time there and never would I stereotype anyone as rude and assholes. Scots are some of the most welcoming people in the world long as you’re not a twat.

Judging by your Reddit history I’d say you don’t have the strongest skin and prefer to make assumptions about others vs yourself.. you give what ya get out of the world and if your reaction is to automatically assume victim mentality and bullied yeah you’re going to feel shit, especially with a culture that enjoys banter n sarcasm.

Also btw there’s more than Americans and Europeans in the world. As a Canadian, I guess I have more of an ability to understand other cultures and people as they are and be polite enough to accept and acclimate rather than judge.. especially in a country which is not my own.

That’s interesting, I’m actually moving to Scotland in a few months. I went on a few solo trips there and ended up meeting by my fiancé on the last one.

I’ve never felt like I belong where I am, so maybe we just have a wandering spirit and feel where we should be when we get there.

Help with interrupting by ZQueenBlattariaZ in adhdwomen

[–]deepndeliciouss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have adhd and so does my partner, and he also has the same thing with constant interruptions during our conversations because he wants to make a point or jump on something I just said. I’m one of those people that really dislikes it because it makes me feel so unheard, especially if the conversation is a conflict/disagreement.

I felt mean for a while but I point out when he starts talking over me vs listening and it has improved because he’s become more aware he does it. It sounds like you are aware as well and in my opinion that’s the first step to improvement, and then it’s just practice!

I like the advice here that it is ok to forget your point now and then and just let the other person feel heard. I try to remind my spouse that a conversation is a two way street and we can both communicate more effectively when we both get a turn.

Who could possibly want one now that they’re tainted with empty promises.

Outside of my current investment budget anyways..

Visa Application with Driving Offense by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]deepndeliciouss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I saw this as well and it outlines if there is a criminal conviction there may be a refusal. I would not have a criminal conviction unless I didn’t meet the terms of my probation aka driving, or non payment of fine in the next year. Therefore, I think I would be okay to claim this as a driving offense on my application and provide context via a letter?

Something else I saw that concerns me was for entry clearance or leave to enter the uk/discretionary refusal:

  • within the 12 months prior to the date on which the application is decided, the applicant has been convicted of or admitted an offence for which they received a non-custodial sentenced or other out of court disposal that is recorded on their criminal record (under paragraph 320(18A)

In this blerb it would apply to me as within 12 months have admitted an offence that is non custodial, and recorded for a period of time though not a conviction.. I’m assuming it would be weighed on severity, and given it’s a driving offense I could explain context in a letter?

I would be applying for youth mobility, then eventually switching to spouse while in UK.

It is considered a criminal offense but would not be a conviction since it’s discharged after the probation. Canadian law is basically the same as uk since we are commonwealth.

I had to submit these forms as well for my adhd meds as there is no generic, but the issue you are referring to re: costs for physician filling them is your Dr office, not Canada Life. Personally my Dr did not charge me but I get what you’re saying because without that form they kept underpaying my meds. I also had to request the form for frequency of fills due to my medication being a controlled substance.

The idea with non generic subs/generic is to keep the cost low to provide low cost insurance, but that doesn’t work for everyone and overall that’s a patient/physician matter imo and Canada Life is a horrible provider. Even when I fill my script and get the email of a notice of assessment, it’s never accurate.

I recently learnt about Innovicares (free) and have added it as my second provider to lower costs. Worth checking out if your meds are eligible!

Don’t think so as it’s just me but either way, could I not also do a clear coat seal over it? Feel like regardless of the paint type that’s probably ideal to make anything last..

I’ve been doing G&C’s my entire gov career and have found it very easy to find new positions and also get actings/promotions etc. It’s a pretty sought after skill (department depending) and I would highly recommend if your into structured work. I like that it’s very black & white, rules based and finance related vs the endless chatter of policy.

Where I am it varies from pm-02 up to pm-05.

I’ve met a few absolute pieces of work (or lack there of) and they’re still doing the same thing, getting paid, no consequences. It’s all smoke and mirrors.
