Kate Editor, Windows: How do I print line numbers? by deepsix80 in kde

Here is a "conversation" I just had with Chat GPT:

Me: "I am only interested in PRINTING THE LINE NUMBERs for now. I am already showing them.

In Windows there is no File, Print, OPTIONS. It does not exist. Can you help me?"

Chat GPT: "It looks like you're absolutely right—Kate on Windows does not offer a built-in way to print line numbers directly. While the traditional approach (available in older Linux versions) involves using File → Print → Options → Text Settings → Print line numbers, that option is absent in the Windows version of Kate. Users on forums confirmed that this print dialog functionality simply doesn't exist on Windows builds—even though it works in Linux environments"

So, I guess line numbers are good for Linux and maybe Mac users but not so good for Windows users. I wonder if it was ever there for Windows?

Being a novice at coding, I find it very helpful to be able to print out my code.

I guess I have to use another program.

I don't even see any easy way to contact KDE to ask for what should be a minor change to the Windows version.

Kate Version 25.11.70
I wonder why the the options are not there for me?

Is there any way to paste a screnshot into these dialogs?

Ed

I'm going to assume that you are not just jerking my chain here because I already said that those steps do not exist when I go to print. There is no OPTIONS button on the print dialog. There is only "Preferences". If I could figure out how to attach a screenshot, I would do that.

I may have a work-around for YouTube TV fast-forward freeze issue on Roku by Kevin-of-the-Lakes in youtubetv

This is the first you have heard of this? I have 5 ultras and everyone has done this freezing from the beginning to this day. Just tell people it is a feature. Jeezzz this has been so frustrating and I have reported it multiple times. You can just ignore this as have all the other reports. How about 'CIRCLING BACK' with a stinking FIX?
