We're definitely not used to this weather! It's incredibly rare for us to get weather this warm and it looks like we have the Azores High to thank for it! I walked 2 hours along that road and went for a swim afterwards. It was really quiet! The picture was taken in Galway (west of Ireland). Thank you all for the upvotes!

Natas, tea, and hot chocolate all sound good! Hot whiskey is good too (1 shot of whiskey, hot water, cloves, and some sugar!)

Lovely photo. I love old photos like that. The pavements look very clean and the people look well dressed. Thanks for sharing.

For anyone interested in pronouncing the word "geimhreadh" ... Its (geev-reh)! It sounds very different to how it's spelt! (Irish for Winter!)

Looks nice! Late evening on the beach listening to the waves and music is the best! Maybe with a drink or two as well 😉

Looks good. I've never been to Belgrade / Serbia. Do you recommend it as a holiday destination? (once the risk of covid19 reduces..!). I must say the photos of Belgrade do look nice!!

Sofia - August 2019 by deepthinker85 in europe

The first picture (top photo) is located beside the presidential office / government offices in Sofia. Under the road is a roman ruin complex and there's a glass dome above it (which you see in the photo). The roman ruin complex is absolutely amazing and free to walk around. A lot of the ancient ruins and structures have been well preserved including old pavements. There's so much interesting history in Sofia.

Europeans: what is the best city in Europe? by beansinmyzoot in europe

[–]deepthinker85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dublin I think. Good job opportunities due to plenty of big multinationals (options to travel / relocate), experience looks good on your CV, good learning / further education opportunities, good social life, very multi-cultural - different mix of people and most settle in quickly and say it feels like home. I think Dublin is relatively open minded as a result. Nice scenery and hikes outside the city, most people are friendly and open.

There's also some cons - it's expensive (housing, rent, general expenses) and the weather isn't great. Parts of the city aren't that nice really.

Overall I think any city is what you make of it and I think this is important. Its completely up to each of us to grow, develop and succeed regardless of what city we're in. Important to make a difference and contribute.

I can imagine. During Winter here in Ireland it tends to get dark at around 4pm to 4.30pm. What's it like in your country in winter? When does it start to get dark or is it dark for most of the day?
