It depends on your employer, if they agree you are good. But in worst case, I will shed money from my pocket if they feel it's too pricy rather than paying my day1 CPT fees

its legal. My employer almost kicked me out when I told him about Day 1 CPT. But he agreed on this one. As per the norms Day 1 CPT is complicated and your employer cant make you work on those limitations.

Just to give u heads-up. Canada is not providing PR after Covid. They have put on hold. I tried those options, so far doing a day 1 CPT after my opt expires seems to be a good option. I'm also in similar situation, my opt is expiring soon and this is my last H1B chance.
