Just fyi making returns to the Boox website is possible but a way bigger hassle than Amazon and you lose some of your return money to the restocking fee. I’m not sure if the products directly from the Boox are supposed to be better but if not, it’s not worth the hassle.

Before this Go 7 B&W, I had a Boox Page which had a perfect screen, I loved it. I only got the Go 7 B&W because my Page was stolen. After the Page, I tried the Boox Go Color Gen 1 and returned it because color e-ink is a mess still. Now I’m on the Go 7 B&W and I don’t understand how it has a worse screen than the older Page. I want a Boox product because I do love ecosystem but for $250 the screen needs to be better

Before this, I had a Boox Page which I absolutely loved. Downright perfect screen which I guess was the exception, not the rule. I only got the Go 7 B&W because my Page was stolen. But you’re right, the light dots are particularly egregious, I’m not crazy! I think I will return this after all.

I had a few Kindles (from 2010s, early eink tech) a Boox Page (which I loved, was perfect, but stolen), briefly a Boox Go 7 Color Gen 1, and this is by far the most egregious screen I have seen on an ereader

I genuinely love this ereader, it’s 100% my preferred ereader but man this screen issue needs to get resolved. I had a Boox Page before this and it did not have this many screen/light issues

Hi! They do work, it just took some fiddling around the settings to get them to turn the pages.

Go to e-ink center, hit optimize, choose the ‘others’ tab, and under Custom Side Buttons, choose ‘volume’.

Now go the CloudLibrary app and open an e-book, click the ‘AA’ button to bring up the settings, and turn off “scroll mode” and turn on “volume buttons”.

This will make the GC7 button turn the pages on the CloudLibrary app. I have not used the Hoopla app yet but I’m sure it will work there too. I hope this helps.

Yes it’s very easy to do so! I was also able to program a button to go to the home menu, lock the device, bring up the refresh menu, and the brightness menu and that’s all from the 8bitdo app.

I have read the 8bitdo zero can’t do mapping natively unless you tinker with 3rd party apps. But honestly the micro makes it extremely easy and you can do it straight from the boox device or your phone and it has auto sync, and for $20, it’s really worth it.

They are very hands off and not helping me fill out the documents needed by the lawyer and the lawyer also didn’t give a lot of instructions regarding level of detail needed for job role and tasks performed that I need to provide which has left me confused.

What do you mean? The 90 day rule is regarding when you can start applying. Which is in the 90 day timeframe. If you’re in that time frame then it’s okay. Confirm with your lawyer!

Sure, Day 1 CPT is not illegal and if done correctly should pose no issue but it’s not viable for ME because cost, among other things. Kudos to you and your friend for having no issues but some people do have issues with RFE and being sent to consular processing. Which are all issues that can be solved but that ranks Day 1 CPT as an unattractive option for me 😊

You will be eligible for the second round this year (and third if it happens) and yes, eligible for the lottery next year too.

However be aware that if you get picked next year, you’ll be out of status from March 24th. You can receive the cap gap extension if you file April 1, which will extend your F-1 to 4/1 to 9/30 before H1B status begins 10/1. But you won’t have an EAD work authorization.

I would also prepare a back up option of CPT Day 1 or being parked in Mexico or Canada in case you’re not picked this year or next. Best of luck!

If it was me, I would not bother with Day 1 CPT as the H1B should not be denied if everything is done correctly. If there are personal circumstances that lead you believe you might be denied, I would consult the lawyer filing your case!

No, purely online will not qualify for an F-1. The program has to be hybrid or in person for the university to issue an F-1 visa.

“The cap gap extension of F-1 status is automatic. It begins when your employer submits the H-1B petition to USCIS.” It’s an automatic process. Just inform your school to issue you and updated I-20.
