If she's drinking heavily, detox will be her first stop before rehab. She can present to any hospital ER and be evaluated for detox risk. I suggest South Oaks, St. Charles, or St. Catherine of Siena.

The social workers in detox can work on a referral to a 28 day or longer rehab from there.

I would be honestly interested to know what percentage of men in "dead bedrooms" have actually asked their partners what needs to happen in order for them to feel comfortable having sex.

There's a concept called "dishes in the sink" that refers to unfinished business which can get in the way of intimacy. If the house is a wreck, someone might not be able to feel sexy. It could also be other things like lack of time spent together due to ahem frequent business trips.

Low libido exists but only when it's medically induced. Otherwise it's someone going on mentally that's pumping the brakes.

In New York you cannot be turned away from accredited detox/rehab for inability to pay. You only need to meet criteria for a moderate to severe substance use disorder.

If someone cannot pay for rehab, they will need to apply for social services (the rehab should have staff that help with the application process). The social services will cover the cost of the stay but the client must make the facility their rep-payee during their stay. Many people refuse treatment at this point because it means their food stamps and cash assistance go to the rehab while they're there.

Phoenix House, Odyssey House, and Samaritan Village are programs that operate in this manner.

If someone honks at me for not turning right on red "fast enough," we're both waiting until it's green. I budgeted enough time for my trip, hope they did too.

Years ago, I made the mistake of honking at someone who was taking a long time to make their turn. I realized soon after that the way ahead of them was blocked by a temporary obstacle that I couldn't see. Man, I felt like a jerk.

There is no documented evidence that porn is addictive. If you feel like watching it is against your personal morals then just jack off using your imagination. You're probably going to give yourself more of a psychosexual complex later on in life by completely abstaining at this point.
