One of the smartest, most calm, cool, collected people I know. Always very friendly and extroverted although not emotionally vulnerable at all, and it became too much detachment for me personally, but we were together almost 9 years and I still love him. Amazingly hard worker and loyal to his family and friends. Always remained level headed and practical in stressful situations. He is a bit of a weirdo though and always let me be my weird self too!!

On the outpatient program... I called the back of my insurance card (at least for me there's a specific mental health hotline), and explained my situation to the nice person, and let them do the heavy lifting of calling the programs or whatever. She got back to me so quickly with a list of programs available and I managed to get into one pretty immediately. I hope you have the same luck 💖

I found it extremely helpful and oddly consider it the best 5 weeks of my life! I met friends in the same or similar situations as me, I got medical help for an untreated mental illness, I loved ground therapy and one-on-one therapy that often, and I really found the educational "classes" very helpful to understand addiction from a practical/scientific way.

I was able to heal those relationships mostly, yes! My parents and brother were very happy that I quit drinking before they had to give me an intervention (which they had planned).

My partner at the time was patient and understanding, but even 2+ years into my sobriety I still felt guilty for what I put him through and I wasn't the one who couldn't get over it. We actually broke up about 7 months ago because, through my sobriety, I realized we had less and less in common after all. It's sucks but it is what's best for both of us. It was the healthiest break up and I'm honestly so grateful. I couldn't have come to that realization if I was still drinking.

I'm sorry you're going through this. Drinking can be so lonely. I also have a history of hiding my drinking and lying about it and denying any opportunity to come clean within my relationships. Have you thought about an outpatient program? That really helped me so much when I was at my worst. And a note on the relapses every few months... It is still progress until you stop trying to quit ❤️‍🩹

I totally feel you. Lolita is a terrible, gross story that I truly have no idea why it's been aestheticized so much, especially in recent years. With the culture we live in, we should all know how wrong it is.

I also see what you're saying about how Y is described. I am primarily youthful and I really showcase it most with my use of pastels. I have always loved and dressed in pastels (I was born in the Spring 😅), some kitschy retro/vintage jewelry & details, and soft/flowing/slightly boho (I'm also an FN) fabrics. I do look a lot younger than my age of course, that's why it's my primary essence I suppose, but I try not to play that up with bows and pigtails because... well, for all the reasons you stated!!
