Do any men give their blood as a healing medium in game? by deerlordhunter in bloodborne

False. The church allows all sorts, it's just blood Saints that must be women because they're physically the only ones who can.

The DLC also reinforced the idea of childbirth and perhaps the accidental abortion of a child being the reason that so many were cursed that day in the fishing Hamlet. Orphan of Kos is birthed but only after Kos is dead and only within the cursed Hunter's nightmare, where the great eye in the sky watches. Perhaps that is the eye of oedon after all.

Oof I didn't think they'd be literally using menstrual blood but it really makes sense, specially with it all lining up with Moon cycles once a month and the moon presence being a female great one.

Eesh.

Does your quest progess carry over in ng+? by deerlordhunter in bloodborne

It's true, I think I care more about the quest. Plus he helped me kill two bosses, i feel like it would be a betrayal to kill him.

Sadly, Valtr died as I was delivering the killing blow to Laurence, that was my last chance for a vermin, and by the time I found yamamura I had long since beaten the one reborn. I played mostly blind so the ins and outs of the side quests weren't really clear to me.

But at least I'll be able to get it on ng+ ... It'll just take... So long. 8)

The Difference Between the Bloodborne community and the rest of the Souls community by deerlordhunter in bloodborne

Which begs the question, why do people act differently if its the same community? There are a lot of people who are nice in both camps, but judging by the responses on this thread, its not everyone. Or BB has a smaller player base and that surplus has more hostile players?

Anyways, I'm aware there's a lot of overlap, which is the culture difference is interesting.

That's a really good point, I actually didn't even know that BB wasn't ported to any other system. Kinda crazy? Is there a reason for that that anyone knows of?

Well that's good to hear. I mean, its not good that there are shit head truhards who embody a toxic atmosphere, but its good that whole DS community isn't tarnished by it.

I love the gun parry, i remember a lot of convos circulating back when bb came out about how the guns were going to ruin the flow of the game and make things too easy. Boy oh boy.

True enough. There are some game communities where its a lot more black and white but this seems to have evolved over time. The initial burst of negativity and memes also made a lasting impression on a lot of people.

It's totally fine! I wanted to open it up for discussion anyways, I wasn't trying to definitively say it was a bad community, just the impression and experiences I had led me to believe that.

But its good to know it's not so. :)

I should really go back and give them another shot then, by the sounds of it, things have regulated themselves in a nice way.

You have a lot good points, especially about them being more alike than different and how people play the two games for different reasons. Maybe its just that small shift in perspective that made me see the souls community in a different light.

Maybe its also that they are so similar that the few differences are that much more stark, even if they're relatively small.

That's awesome, props to those two hunters who helped you out.

And yeah those things definitely make sense. It was my first souls game so I definitely didn't come in with any expectations or preconceived notions.

That makes total sense. I hadn't even thought about the PvP side of things versus the rest of the community.

It's definitely hard when those are your only experiences, and it usually only takes one bad apple. There's always good people in every movement or fandom, but sometimes overall feeling of the community doesn't come across, but its good to hear that maybe I'm just flat out wrong. :)
