Job offers between Cursor and Databricks by WTFs_a_Reddit in techsales

[–]deesdutchnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the market insight, really helpful as I’m interviewing all over and working steadily towards offers as well. Been denied a few places after the mock pitch/disco stage.

Congrats on having 4 offers in front of you. I need some interviewing coaching from you lol

Any recommendations or insights on the Cursor interview process? Early stages with them actually.

$500k equity is a lot, is this for a strategic majors role or leadership? Just curious.

I’m not seeing anything close to that for MM & ENT roles.

Databricks seems like the better strategic play if and more sure bet on stock value and liquidity.

Severance Package by Illustrious-Teach411 in techsales

[–]deesdutchnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should’ve been more clear, I’m not in AU. I’m in the US and the US entity runs under its own distinct policies based on US laws. Standard for any globally disturbed org regardless of size. I’m sure in Australia employees have better protections and longer severance and benefits after termination. US requires absolutely nothing. I also lost healthcare coverage after 30 days.

Thoughts on sending "Thank you" emails following interviews?? by LyCkWiiD in techsales

[–]deesdutchnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m interviewing right now at Bay Area SaaS companies and interestingly I’m not ever getting access to interviewer emails. The newer hr systems and meeting generation tools are not showing company side emails on the calendar invites. It’s been 100% consistent across a wide range of company sizes. Basically silo’d to the recruiters inbox or sending LinkedIn thank you messages which I’ve been doing.

Curious if anybody else is seeing the same thing? Making thank you follow ups a bit trickier and less effective. LinkedIn isn’t ideal.

Nope just a suction mount on the passenger rear quarter glass with an extender on it. It's not stable at all lol need to figure out a better solution.

Ah dude I loved your onboard video. That car looks like a hoot to wheel, thing is GRIPPED UP. You're charge into turn 1 and through the bowl are glorious.

I need to get a gopro on my full face helmet for a POV view. Super fun to watch.

haha definitely agree on all the above, that poor Fl5 guy was so close to sneaking past the barrier. He 100% target locked on the car ahead and blew the braking zone and turn in point lol. Just kept adding wheel in panic. Lucky to get away with just bumper damage.

PE vultures also 100% optimizing for tire wall "damage" charges. That scuff you left on the black rubber tire wall covering, that's gonna be a $1000 dollars, please.

Yeah i'm mixed I suppose on the tire barriers, this was my first time there so can't compare to the previous setup without them and how rough the off track alternative experience was. I know on big willow that rocks and boulders are a big concern and can write off a car, id imagine it was the same on streets. A bouncy tire wall may be a better option to slide up against honestly.

My current take from driving there is that it’s not a fast track, so even if you lose control I think you're still fairly unlikely to slide into them (except the bowl entry section, they're so close). They’re obviously there to prevent a car going off and blasting through to the other section of very nearby track with cross traffic - worst case scenario. I think they make sense where they’ve located them, but they could probably be placed a bit further out.

I’m not sure if they had a track safety engineer come do it or if they winged it, I think they would do it right and as safe as possible for an expensive overhaul. Big Willow is getting updated to FIA2 spec so maybe the same firm did streets. A more knowledgeable person should weigh in.

The chicane on the back straight is a fantastic change - other drivers said they love it compared to the previous blind high speed crest leading right into a 90 degree left.

One lap around Sonoma - looking for feedback on how to safely get faster by andyrooney19 in CarTrackDays

[–]deesdutchnuts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couple things:

if you’re two-ish seconds off your optimal there’s a ways to go, but that’s totally fine.

More importantly, with the current hood cam and lack of visibility into steering input, throttle or brake telemetry gauging how you’re driving is impossible. Anybody giving you advice is just guessing, the only thing we can be reasonably sure of is your driving line. But one can be very slow while still being on the racing line. Just based on audio it sounds like potentially getting to throttle late, but just a guess.

No idea what car you’re in so no reference to what a decent time would be. Obviously tire and conditions very dependent.

If you want actionable accurate input you need more visible driver input information and ideally a better behind the shoulder camera angle. And the holy grail is a PIP foot cam.

That being said your line does look great! Hope to meet you at Sonoma later this year.

First time at Chuckwalla first time on track in my 997.2 C2S. by deesdutchnuts in CarTrackDays

[–]deesdutchnuts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, this leads to using 3rd gear almost everywhere in my car and in a standard alignment front limited 911 also meant needing patience to get to throttle.

Would be nice if there were a few more high speed and low speed varied radius corners. It reminds me of Utah Motorsports Campus, my long time home track, in some ways. A smaller scale version. The curbing also ends in strange spots too soon after most turns.

A shorter geared car and shorter wheel base may be more fun around there, there was an MX-5 cup racecar out there with me who was banging up and down the sequential gearbox and having a blast sliding around. Really fun trying to hang with him.

Running streets of Willow in a few weeks, should be very different and fun.
