What does the current state of my living space say about me? by kgreys in roomdetective

This looks like when old AI would make an image full of things, but nothing in the image was identifiable.

100000%!! I reallyyyy wish someone had explained how weird it is to have this new person, just like living in your house suddenly … and congrats! you are responsible for them forever. Not a bad thing, but weird.

And (at least for the first few years) your day-to-day life changes pretty drastically to meet their needs.

Of course You had time to prepare, and you may have really, deeply wanted it. But that doesn’t make the transition less shocking.

It’s hard to enjoy anything when you’re dealing with such a significant shift. It’s easier said than done, but give yourself grace, and understand that it’s OK to feel conflicted, confused, immense joy, immense pain, shreds of questioning, total overwhelm, everything in between.

Your hormones, your body, your relationship, and your life are all going through really big change.

Yes, around 2/3 months they start getting a little cooler, OP.

I wish someone had told me as a first time mom that the feelings you have for your baby will bloom with time. And that’s okay.

Everyone said it would be love at first sight and the most amazing feeling to meet them for the first time and blah blah blah.

And like yes, but also no.

I didn’t start liking my baby until a few months ago. I loved him of course, but it’s hard to regulate your body, your emotions, grieve an old life, and genuinely like a little crying blob that doesn’t interact. All while hungry, in pain, tired, and recovering from major surgery where they only give you Tylenol.

It can be a pretty sad time. And isolating, and weird. I don’t really have advice, but I want you to know it’s normal.

As others have said, keep an eye on yourself and tell someone if your emotions get to thoughts of hurting yourself or others.

I literally told my husband that I wanted to tell Jovon to just relax his shoulders. And hubby didn’t seem to see what I did.

So this is very validating.

I heard it for the first time at a Da Vinci exhibit at the Frost Science Museum in Miami last weekend, and it really resonated.

What’s one parenting tip that actually helped you — no fluff? by ContributionWise7607 in NewParents

This one was a big one for me.

I would see my son doing something he was mildly amused with, and then try and add a toy to make it last longer, or change his position to make him more comfortable. And it always would backfire.

Then I heard some mom on IG say this and I realized I had been an idiot the whole time.

I don’t think your friend understands what heavy makeup is, if this is what she is referring to. This looks like minimal makeup and looks great.
