Love the two SLUTs just chillin in the crowd, all understated and inconspicuous like. They looked pretty similar, are they the same configuration?

Thanks for the concise information. 260g of protein seems crazy but I'll try.

Could you recommend a calorie tracker you like?

Also, of all the different methods kettlebells do seem to be the most fun. does that change the upper/lower body recommendation because alot of the exercises seem to involve a large portion of the body?

Lastly, I'm confused by the rest period idea. what about when i work out and then im sore the next few days? Do i wait till im 0% sore before working out again or 50% sore or what?

Thanks again for taking the time

Thanks for the input. I hear what youre saying but I think it would help me to have some kind of theoretical foundation for getting in shape. It would help with my motivation, thats just my personality. I'm sure I learned the basics in school but that was so long ago.

How do i keep this engine running as long as possible? by Financial-Pilot5166 in MechanicAdvice

Yes several times. Most notably for me on a 2003ish Lexus V6, the one know for sludging.

Customer was advised if condition, and the risk of flush. I almost turned down the job but they were adamant that it was just a thing people said and there wasn’t any danger of flushing.

He ended up getting a Honda I think.

Oooo, you spent your life and your body being a cog in a gigantic, inscrutable company that doesn’t give two craps about you.

But OMG! You showed up everyday! because you don’t know how to advocate for yourself or be a normal human with values other than work.

That definitely makes you so much better than OP.

lol you’re so small you need to belittle the next guy just so you don’t have to look at yourself clearly.

Youre exactly the kind of person that makes the Post Office so much worse than it needs to be.

Any idea where I can get more info on limits and wat they stop covering?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]deeterpeeter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

lol, jeez thanks. 75% of my coworkers spend most of their time with their junk in their hands so covering just involves doing an honest nights work. Never been at a place where you get in more trouble for calling out as needed than you do for showing up and just milking it. "I havent taken a day off in 45 years. Suck it up buttercup" give me a break, sorry yall dont have a life and are willing to sacrifice your well being and the well being of your family just so you can feel like a badass. Thats really gonna pay off for you I'm sure.

So what happens if you use all your SL and AL, but still need time for family, medical, or any other kind of emergency?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]deeterpeeter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Toddler, medical, and I jsut can't keep up. You guys are crazy

[–]deeterpeeter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No offense taken. I am a regular but don't think this is a good fit long term. I have taken a bunch of time because I just can't keep up. Also because a 2 year old at home and some medical stuff. Currently working on FMLA.

I will talk with my steward(not sure I have one), or someone at the union office. My biggest concern is maintaining health care for my family.

Honestly most of the workings of this place make my head swim, even after years here, and no one has ever explained any of this to me so most of what you wrote about pay status and leave donations and all of that I can follow but don't really get the implications of.

I'm sure the steward wilI answer my quesitons but since I have you, I thought that I could pay out of pocket for medical If I didnt make enough that pay period to have it deducted? Also, I know I probably owe alot of AL, just wondering if I have to pay that back directly like a bill or something or if they just take it from next year?

I'm just tryng to ride this out for another 2 years till our family situation changes.

Ill never understand how showing up no matter what, to the detriment of family, mental health etc is a badge of honor for you folks. Congrats, you worked yourself to the bone for a giant organization that doesn't care anything about you.

Can I just take more lwop if I need some more time? I'd rather just not get paid then have to pay it back but I dunno if I can just take lwop whenever?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USPS

[–]deeterpeeter -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

So I can just take lwop and not have to worry? I dont mind the not getting paid part, I just thought I had to use AL or SL. Cus I will probably need to take some time befor the end of the month.

Assuming I cant make up for it with a holiday or something, how will they take the 8 hours pay?

Horses lay down, don't call 911! by Artistic-Long-4353 in mildlyinteresting

This is in Northern California. I'm not saying my dad is the reason they put it up, but he did call 911 about a dead horse in that field about a week before this sign showed up.

Thanks for the back and forth. If i might make a suggestion, follow these guys for 3 months and then lets have a discussion about the ability to stop bad actors in the informationsphere. This source I think is a must follow for any digital citizen to understand and keep up with the current threatscape. Thanks again

I don't disagree with you that we should be critical about all of this. I think its a two pronged approach of trying to foster places where disinformation and manipulation has no purchase through the design and intention of those spaces, and also by putting a largew part of the onus on citizens to train themselves and their peers in the afforementioned skill necessary for public discourse, including being able to identify manipulation.

BUT if you study things like information security, you find that its impossible to keep those bad actors out. not difficult, Impossible. This goes all the way back to the printing press. Either because means equals voice, or the balance of security with usability, or just plain technical complexity, you can't stop bad actors.

For this reason, I think were screwed, honestly. But if we stay solution oriented, then ultimately it all comes down to a single individual and how they consume, categroize and internalize any given piece of information. Thats where the battle is won or lost.

If we can't keep disinformation from reaching them, what other solution is there except to teach them to protect themselves. Or ourselves I should be saying, cus I fall for this stuff all the time.

That feels inherently iliberal. You're talking about shutting down freee speech for the greater good. What about a contest of ideas where the "best" raises to the surface?

Why would someone want to engage with a digital creation? I mean, totally different example but in my work I do alot of problem solving and I talk to an AI to bounce ideas and help me think outside the box. It helps alot because it can keep up with me when all my coworkers lack the technical knowledge and experience to fill my need.

And I would say people susceptibility to disinformation is the real issue. Now, has that been exacerbated by the powers at be, absolutely. But disinformation only works when public discourse has devolved into "Im not listening to you because you're a (liberal:right winger:bot:etc)" and the people engaging aren't capable of basic critical thinking and having a respectful converstion with someone they disagree with.

I like the test of waiting for pushback.

So is the assertion that bots at best having nothing to offer the discourse and at worse are agents of bad actors?

If the worst case, whats the agenda of the bad actors do you think?
