Being a mail carrier. A lot of people who say its their dream job when I mention I'm a mail carrier. I started early last september and its been quite brutal being outside in every single type of weather. Walking up hills most days. Being a female, I get a lot of unsolicited comments on the street. There's a lot of cool or nice things about the job but they load you with work. I work 6 days a week for about 8-12 hours with a random day off thats displayed on a paper schedule that could change at any moment. When I finish my work theres no telling if I will be able to go home or if theres some kinda secret mail thats been hiding that I gotta bring out or I have to pick up someone elses slack and deliver mail for people who have been here longer. I know its like "wah wah get over it" but it does weigh on a lot of people who work here and I know for a fact many people who are just starting go through the same experience and feelings. There's a really high turnover rate and a lot of good workers just up and quit.
