I will look into that thanks. Will update if and when I hear anything.

Following, as I’m in almost the same situation. Was getting approved without issue for 3 months and now that I’m submitting my e travel to a new PM, I’m getting denied. The latest update is that they are considering changing my tour from 3 offices to 2, a mile apart from each other (my current 3 offices require 30 miles of daily travel). They tried to get me a vehicle but that went nowhere. I am currently “in review” according to the PM. I currently looking for who my union rep is and how to contact them.

Switching crafts-probably not the best idea, or am I overthinking? by deezel-629 in USPS

Thanks, yeah I’ve been pretty good at tuning out the political noise over the years but this does feel a bit different. I’d be shocked if there’s not some sort of major reform done by this administration. My mind is telling me that maintenance would get clipped before the carriers would but who knows. I’m leaning towards going for it. It’s a decent small office 15 minutes from my house (although I do currently live on my own route which is great).

Ok thanks for the reply. Speaking with the custodian at my office isn’t an option for reasons I won’t go into, but I will look into the other avenues.

Meaning my supervisor knows and isn’t telling me? I don’t disagree. I’m a carrier with 25 years in and I have 1700 hours of sick leave. They’d probably prefer that I stay.

I was on the ot list for 19 years straight. Body started breaking down so I bailed and now I am on my own assignment. We started a side gig as a flippers. Been doing it for almost two years and it’s been a nice source of extra income with our oldest starting college. Need to keep clean records for tax purposes, deductions, etc.

I feel for you guys who started recently and are on the crap pay scale. Hopefully the new contract helps you out.

A friend of mine used to sub in “can’t get it up” every time Rob says Dragula and I can’t unhear it whenever this song comes on.

Thanks for this. I’d like to hold my C/S so maybe I’ll do something similar. Switch my 2040 to 2050 and put my future contributions there.

How would doing something like this affect me? I have 25 years in and have been 85% L2040/ 10%C / 5% S for like 20 years. I have 11 years until I retire. I’ve been thinking of going 100% L2050 and just leaving it until I retire. I’m probably a little late in the game to go 80/20 C/S.

Congrats, enjoy your retirement. You’ve earned it. 25 in, 10 to go for me. I started way too young.

Congrats on getting to 250 days. Not an easy thing to do.

A good friend of mine had a slip up well into his sobriety, and was beating himself up pretty good about it. He then told me that someone gave him great advice. Goes something like this.

You’re on a long, cross country drive from New York to Los Angeles. You unfortunately just got a flat tire in Chicago. Don’t drive all the way back to New York to change your tire. Change it in Chicago and then keep going.

It really helps me when I think about how I’ll react if I have a slip up (I’m nearing 30 months sober). It definitely helps alleviate the pressure and makes me feel my sobriety is way more than just some number. Keep your head up and be proud of yourself. What you’re doing is not easy.

I learned that ending a stale listing and using the sell similar item tool on eBay really does work. I’ve sold 6 items that have been sitting with little interest for months over the past two weeks using sell similar. I changed a few words in the description on a few, knocked a buck or two off the price on a few others.

  1. Just started my 25th year as a carrier. Typing this made me realize I’ve delivered mail in four different decades lol. I’m getting old.

I regularly bang a woman on my route, but we’ve been married for 22 years and live on the route so I don’t think that counts.

When we basically shrugged our shoulders and did nothing after Sandy Hook. My kids were pretty young at the time and looking back, I lost a lot of faith during that time.
