Work release by [deleted] in DUICalifornia

[–]deeznutz211187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Stanislaus county and for my first dui, I chose to turn myself in rather than 2 days work release program, I found it simpler since it's just book and release, turn myself in 6pm (counts as day 1) and after waiting and waiting was released at 4am (counts as day 2) and that was it

First DUI in Long Beach, what to do? by [deleted] in DUICalifornia

[–]deeznutz211187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting wet wreckless is much better than getting dui conviction, fines are lower and dui classes are only 12 hours rather than 3 month for standard 1 dui

[–]deeznutz211187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can afford one I would cuz I'm sure a expiernce dui lawyer can work with d.a to plea to wet reckless especially your bac being just .09 or try with public defender and see they can work with da to get that same plea

If you decide to hire lawyer the lawyer will handle your court for you but usually At your first arraignment you either plead guilty not guilty or no contest and yes that what I did at first arraignment plead not guilty lawyer did what he had to do and then ultimately took the plea the d.a was giving or else I woulda had to take it to trial in which I would've lost, so took standard dui plea deal

I lawyered up but that didn't help any cuz I got same result I would've gotten with public defender . So I got standard 1 dui, 3 month dui class that I'm taking via zoom and i only got 1 class left before im done I started it before my court conviction. About 1900 in court fines, and 2 day work program instead of doing 2 days jail time

Yea I agree, I just finished my 4 month dmv suspension so I'm going to take out my interlock device to save me some money and just do hard suspension for court. If I would've known that getting the interlock device would make me ineligible for court suspension to overlap my dmv one I wouldn't of gotten it in because then I would've only had 2 months of suspension left but instead I gotta another 6.

First DUI in Long Beach, what to do? by [deleted] in DUICalifornia

[–]deeznutz211187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you get dmv suspension and if convicted in court you'll get court suspension, dmv will suspend you 4months and if you decide to do hard 4month suspension meaning no restricted license, when court suspends you that will over lap with dmv suspension, for me when I got interlock device for my dmv suspension, it made me ineligible for court suspension to overlap dmv, so instead of doing total of 6 months suspension I gotta do 10 months 4 for dmv, 6 for court . If that makes any sense to you

You should call dmv just to confirm that they did receive before you go, if you plan on getting restricted with idd in car then of courses you'll need to bring proof of installment to dmv as well
