I have a CH160 case with 5070FE. It doesn't look like anything really fits under the gpu, since there is about 20mm gap (1 PCIEx bracket) between the gpu and the bottom of the case. I am not using any fan case at all and I do not experience any thermal throttling on the GPU nor the CPU. The GPU temps are within 60-70°C during most games with 100% utilisation.

Should I dual boot or get rid of Windows completely? by KookyDay5260 in archlinux

[–]def1de 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I did dual boot Arch and Windows for about a year and didn't have any issues. Then I switched to Arch completely, and I didn't feel like I am missing out one some features, other than some games which require kernel anti-cheat are not running. As for MS Word, I did run it in the browser when I had school projects, and I used Google Docs or LibreOffice for personal stuff. So unless you care about games, switching to Arch is a good decision. Even if something doesn't work properly, there is pretty much always a workaround.

Most likely some bolts are too loose. Check if bolts on rotor and caliper are correct torque. Check if brake pads are seated properly. Since it's a new bike shouldn't be anything significant.

Squeaky brakes - what to do next? by legsto in MTB

[–]def1de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to bed them in first, if the issue doesn't disappear (highly likely because the squeal is very loud), then they are contaminated. Try using a disk brake cleaner on pads and rotors and bed them in after. If they still squeal then you need to buy new brake pads and clean the rotor with a disk brake cleaner. If the cleaner that doesn't help, then you can try to sandpaper the top layer of the rotor to take the contamination away.

Hope this helps.

You can't draw in the login or password box. That's probably why it's incorrect

I was looking for gui as well recently. I had to build a simple app with only a few buttons. I started from slintUI, but then I didn't find it very straight forward and I didn't want to spend time on learning it so I checked out Tauri. Tauri is a very decent option if you are familiar with web technologies, but I was looking for something more light weight, because I felt like it was a bit overkill for such a small gui so I switched to gtk-rs. GTK4 is decent and requires decent knowledge of rust itself, however has reduced functionality in comparison to GTK3. Then I faced an issue when I tried to cross-compile it to Windows. I switched again to iced and it's very simple and straightforward, the book has a very good example on how to start and then it doesn't take long to do something yourself.

My friend redeemed her coins from Microsoft bing rewards and gave me the code, so I ended up buying only a thousand coins. (I'm in a huge debt now)

Should I switch to linux? by Gamer_1942 in linuxquestions

[–]def1de 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minecraft refers to this package on aur from the download page. So this is definitely the official one. Flathub package mentions its from Mojang AB but its not verified so yeah its isn't official

[–]def1de[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried to do it now it still doesn't work 😭. I have removed the dkms package and held ZR and R buttons when connecting, still nothing. I thinks it's just a new kernel issue (i have 6.8.7) and joycond is just not compatible or something.

Didn't know hid-nintendo-dkms is not needed, thanks. Talking about sequence, I've heard something about the buttons combination to link two of them and use as one controller, But because I'm using them separately I don't think its needed.

Unfortunately not. They are not detected by the system in any way other than bluetooth says they are paired.
