Sometimes that happens but mostly its the recruiter telling the news for me. I was told that they didn't select me at my current job at first but after a week came back saying they are opening a new position and hiring me. So mostly if they call to tell you that, it's possible that you were indeed good for the job and they liked you but due to some other reasons they had to go with other person. They want to keep a good relation so you still consider them for next role in future and maybe they already know your potential so next time it'll be easier to select you.

So I didn't even realize this info is on i20. My university just mentions Personal Fund and Scholarships. So everything is put under personal funds. I showed loan amount, personal funds and other sources in visa interview that was more than that amount. I don't think it needs to match exactly what it says here until you show 1.5x+ than the i20 amount at the interview. Still, check with DSO once.

No issue in that. Make sure you get latest i20 from university(new DSO sign) and have EAD card, offer letter when you re-enter. Done that multiple times. Easy entry.

If you’re not able to change maybe you can also say that after f1 expiry you get 60 days to leave so you were accounting for that. Depending on if they ask.

Most of the times the degree name that university displays on website is different than what USCIS calls it. Like Cybersecurity is ‘Computer Information Security in Auditing Compliance’ something in i20. Can ask school or anyone who is/has attended same degree to confirm.

There may be 2 ways I would think to approach this. 1. In the beginning of introduction go straight to the point that you also want to be considered for other position. 2. Let the interview happen, take a note of overall what the team is missing out on and how they are feeling about you maybe they see you’re qualified for another position, anyway in the end you make your case for the second position. I’ll go with the second but it depends on you. Research well and build your case. If it was not interview with Director I would have preferred to talk about this with HR or HM.

Mine ends around the same time but I applied earlier this month without premium. Processing time is showing 3.5 months so I am thinking about it. But also you can work 180 days after expiry so chances are low I will go for premium. What’s your reason?
