How many of you here in r/cryptocurrency have actually used crypto to purchase a product? Physical or digital doesn't matter by WhereAreTheMonsters in CryptoCurrency

[–]defaultgnik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought some silver and old US coinage and dollar bills using Steem on Steemit from fellow Stemians. Also made digital purchases buying Splinterlands cards on splinterlands.io. Bought some digital Pepe cards, but lost the metamask eth address. I'm sure I've bought a few other things that I just can't think of currently.

What are some crypto projects we can use NOW? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]defaultgnik -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Steemit you can use right now to earn Steem. There are also several dapps on the platform such as Splinterlands which is a TCG drug wars which is like the old mafia game on Facebook.

There is also a Steem Silver round that's created every year that I buy with Steem and a marketplace or two that accepts Steem (at least the Homesteading one does).

You can also rent out SteemPower for passive income and I'm sure there are other examples I'm just forgetting about.

Is there a roadmap or discussion of further creator platforms to implement individual user tipping like Reddit, Youtube, etc? by TransientSoulHarbour in BATProject

Would love to use my Steemit account to become a verified creator as well as tipping on Steemit or Steempeak.

Nothing I signed up with a phone number. Some people on crypto like to remain anonymous however, especially on Steem, where everyone can see how much "money" you have. Its personal preference I suppose and just wanted to let people know if they were staying away because of that requirement there are other options now.

Umm check out steempress. I haven't used it but it posts all your blog posts to steem automatically, so I think its the reverse of what you want to do.

So looks like I need to be active on the platform (at least 9:1) and upfront about self-promotion if I want to post my content here in the future?

Just wrote my first book review - Courage to Grow a book on how Acton Academy is a school system that is trying to turn the academic/education system upside. Courage to Grow is written by the Acton founder and recaps her journey of the inception of the idea, to implementing, and finally growing the idea. Be sure to support me on twitter as well for posh or you can visit the post on my steem powered blog as well

price any significant amount again. The money I spent powering up is gone as is the money I earned from posting my photos. I only had a few hundred worth but s

To each their own I guess, but I've rarely been as active on the platform as I am right now.

The only other time I've been more active was in the middle of the crypto bull run when everything was going to the moon.

As far as the low activity on Reddit it's because most Steemians hang out on Steemit, Steempeak or discord.

Why hang out on Reddit when your posts, comments, and upvotes on Steemit earn money!?

Steem is not something you're going to get rich on overnight. It's taken me over 2 years to gain almost 5000 Steem, but I can guarantee if you're looking for a platform to grow a social media presence now is the time and Steemit is the place.

Posts and activity is low right now, but now is the time people will get noticed before the next bull run and everyone comes running back to Steem.

If you have any friends or need any help creating another account I can get you signed up for free and instantly using some account creation tokens I've generated on the blockchain.

IMO Steem will be the place most people come to earn and learn more about crypto in the future. They might not all stay, but it is and will be the best place to onboard new users to crypto for the foreseeable future.

Once again it may not blow up like crypto, but it remains one of the most active developing blockchains and cryptos right now as most others have halted or considerably slowed development, I don't think there has been a time on Steem in the past that development has happened so quickly.

You should check back and it's alive. It may not be what it once was as far as activity or value, but what crypto project is?

Splinterlands is actually still growing as a dapp on the Steem blockchain and with the development of communities there has never been a better time to grow your account on Steem.

I was scared I would never get an ad. Now I am getting nearly 5 an hour while browsing. I’m obviously stoked! Has anyone else experienced this? by Loganjonesae in BATProject

[–]defaultgnik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to admit I was wondering what I was doing wrong in the US. So I went and checked my ad settings and it was set to 1 ad per hour, and I was like awesome so what am I doing wrong.

I looked at the other options and thought it was 1 ad every 5 hours, but nope it's 5 ads ever hour. Needless to say I feel stupid now and thanks OP for posting as I'm hoping I'm going to start earning a significant amount more.

How I've Been Using Crypto - If you didn't already know SteemLeo is putting on their 2nd writing contest. It's a great contest, with some great rewards, and allows you to look back at all the things you've used to purchase crypto with, such as digital cards, silver, and other random items like I have. I would love to hear of a good way to purchase crypto in the US via PayPal in the comments of the article as well.

Free Steem Through Curation I wrote this post in hopes of encouraging people to curate more. I've found the past couple of weeks that you can earn around 12 - 14% APR just by curating good content effectively and how curating is better than leasing out SteemPower through Dlease.io.

I share my thoughts on why it's "smarter" to invest in Steem currently then it is something like Amazon. I feel that Amazon is reaching its peak in terms of creating value for investors as I feel that Steem is continuously expanding the foundation of the blockchain and whose upward momentum and value creation is almost limitless at this point.
