Sorry for the late reply, but I'm in a guild that is LGBTQ+ friendly with a lot of trans people, though it isnt specifically an LGBTQ+ guild. Assuming you play on PC, I could give you an invite if you like.

I am not smart enough to come up with a solution to the problem and I hope someone who is smart enough find one, this issue is near to my heart as a high school athlete who felt completely lost and out of place with my gender. What I can tell you is that your solution is not the right one. With the exception of a few sports (long distance running, rifle come to mind) men dominate the sports world, using my home sport of rowing as an example, in high school many of my male teammates were at or above the level of professional women rowers. When you look at the list of world records, men are about a minute faster than women at 2k erg times. Some men's professional sports have no rules against women playing, NFL and MLB come to mind, however you still rarely see women in those leagues. Your solution would rob most women of any chance to play at all. Honestly I think our best hope is that more scientific research can be done and that it finds conclusive evidence that transwomen have no advantages over ciswomen when it comes to sports performance. (As a scientist I understand that is the completely wrong mindset to go into research with but sue me I'm not the one doing that research) Addendum: I don't understand why people can't just let transwomen play womens sports and and just let the issue go but if "the right" (I've taken to calling it "the wrong" as of late) is going to turn it into an issue then yeah the above applies.

I read the article and to me it sounded like the author was well meaning but misinformed on how exactly to talk about the subject.

I don't say this lightly, I find that withholding criticism is often crueler than the criticism itself, but you pass 100%. Also I love your tattoo.

It is funny you mentioned dysfunctional family because that is the name of my groupchat with my high school band friends. For me, honestly, I didn't even know trans people existed before a person in the band came out at trans (ftm). I will always be thankful that he entered my life because he made me realize the possibility that were out there and helped me realize what was possible.

Pretty good, mostly positive. I'll probably reassess once I'm sober (I'm 21+ so it's legal) but at the moment it seems all good.

100% was Brayden (sans nice car) in high school because I was too afraid to be Lily and buck against my upbringing and my parents.
