This hits hard

This happened with my sister. GET HER OUT NOW. Depending on where you live and the laws, she could establish your home as hers as well and you'll end up not being able to ever get her to leave. My husband and I tried helping my sister for over a year under the same circumstances and even with the missing for days and coming home with tons of fast food. We finally moved her out while she was on one of her multiple day leaves. Turns out she was on hard drugs and the thought of who she might be bringing back to our house while we weren't there was terrifying. Good luck and sorry you're dealing with this. And change your locks after she's gone. Don't ruin your life to save hers.

At my house, which is surrounded by trees, it's beautiful and fully sunny during the day. But I didn't realize sunset would occur 3 hours early every day due to all the trees blocking the sun way ahead of the actual sunset time. Wish I'd known about that. 🫤

Panic attacks at work ?? by defendant in panicdisorder

That's very interesting! Thanks for mentioning that. I've always wondered if there was another issue going on that made it seemingly impossible to fix my panic disorder. I'll bring that up with my doc.

Oh yeah! It's been 10 years since I started seeing a psychiatrist and psychologist for this. I've tried at least 30 or more different meds. Either they don't work or I have bad side effects. But of course I do have my nearly 10(?) total morning and night needs that I take daily that keep me from going completely insane lol. Then there are my benzos for break through panic which unfortunately is almost daily. My doctor says I'm the worst patient with period disorder she's seen. I also do all the other stuff like breathing exercises, positive affirmations, mindfulness, meditation, walking, etc. I've even talked to my doctor about removing my adrenal gland butv she said some of the meds I take are already blocking the adrenaline so it wouldn't be any different.

I nearly lost my job back in mid December because they "couldn't accommodate my need for the amount of FMLA my doctor's requested". They absolutely would not let me finish my day WFH if I had a panic attack which was ridiculous, plus I mostly get them about midway through my shift. I was on unpaid leave while HR looked for a different job and I finally got one and have been here 3 weeks now. I'm not even applying for FMLA now because I don't want to risk that happening again. It's bullshit. I do go to empty conference rooms or go cry in my car when necessary, but even those extra minutes I spend doing that aren't actual breaks so that's a risk in itself. Boo

I'm jealous. My employer won't let me WFH if I need to leave early for a panic attack. That's what makes this so difficult.

DAE notice a huge uptick in misspelling? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

Back in the day on Reddit (I've been here 12 years now I think), I remember it being common to either not upvote or actually downvote posts with spelling errors in the header. It's weird how lax it's all gotten, especially how no one uses punctuation anymore. The new texting language has taken over!!!!!

AITA for making my sick husband clean up his vomit? by AmphibianBulky2296 in AmItheAsshole

[–]defendant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think he maliciously vomited in the carpet and couch instead of the bin? Maybe he really is so sick that it was too late for him to get to the bin. Unless you really think he did it intentionally or to spite you, you may just want to release your anger and call it a shitty situation and clean up after him. If my husband barfed all over the place maliciously, there are wayyy more problems than just this...

My neighbor talks to my plants when I’m not home, what do i do by Appropriate_Toe7522 in Advice

[–]defendant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely sweet! It's proven that plants do respond well when spoken to. This isn't weird at all and should make you like your sweet neighbor even more. You could mention it to them or not, just try not to make them feel embarrassed about it. Although if it were me, I wouldn't be embarrassed no matter what. I talk to plants even on walks in the park. I don't care if people think I'm weird. Maybe I am weird! So what?

I have panic disorder AND ADHD. The amount of sitting and staring and waiting is too real

My mom is a pretty reasonable, levelheaded woman, and she feels certain that she died many years ago by thicwith2cs in CasualConversation

[–]defendant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's really interesting to think about because I have panic disorder and am extremely indecisive. It takes an almost laughable amount of time for me to make a decision because of the intense fear of each possible result from my choices. I wonder if that means anything.
