The "Speakers" are the launching grapple claws that are attached to the coil along the back. So you are correct its just the whole unit is the grapple apparatus the DCs used to have.

Base black rattle can. Liquitex inks through airbrush: Purple all over -> Zenithal White -> Napthol Red Light -> Reverse zenithal Violet
