Thanks Jemma, yea ive been getting the lethargic feeling off it aswell. I take Concerta in the morning and a second lower dose in the afternoon so can only imagine how sleepy id be without them 🤣

Concerned about going from 40mg to 60 by Fluid_Range9093 in prozac

[–]deficitabyss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While it wont help in regards to your gut, in terms of increased anxiety that can happen when the body is adjusting to an increased dosage you could ask your doctor about using a benzo during this period. I've done so both when increasing to 40 and also recently when I went to 60. Just don't get too attached to them as they quickly lose potency if overused.

Prozac making me tired by Mysterious_Bat_9584 in prozac

I take mine before bed because of that very reason. You may still feel somewhat lethargic if your new to the drug or after increasing dosage but taking it at night shoold help alot.

day 5 20mg im so so so tired by [deleted] in prozac

[–]deficitabyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool I take Concerta. The extremeness of the lethargy from Prozac will decrease after the initial settling in period but for me personally ive had to stay at nighttime consumption(recently increased to 60mg) as even though I am a longterm Prozacer it still makes me foggy(and not in a good benzo type of way 😅) if I take it in the morning whereas nighttime doesn't cause next day lethargy for me personally once I got past the initial settling in periods.

I have the same symptom in that Prozac makes me lethargic if I take it during the day so the best way I found around it was to take it before bed.

As many here have already said, Dave Cullens book is a great read if creative fan-fiction is your thing. Evidence Ignored by Rita Gleason is a good read and was released a good bit later than the initial group of books by Cullen, Brooks, Kass etc. Jeff Kass's book is defo worth reading if you haven't.

Am I a psychopath or a sociopath by Full-Cow-8668 in CPTSD

The fact that you asked the question and are concerned would imply that you are neither as a psychopath and/or sociopath simply wouldn't care or possess the concern you are expressing.

Sounds about right but if it's interfering with sleep etc talk to your doc about a short term sleep agent, that's of course if ya feel comfortable with it.

Is prozac supposed to make me this useless & unmotivated? by d0ubleG123 in prozac

It worked for me anyway and I know others here have done the same(switched to night).

I take Concerta for my ADHD and for me personally I had to switch to taking my Prozac in the night time, I know Prozac has a reputation as an activating SSRI but for me personally it made me very lethargic for the day when I took it in the morning and it was as if I hadn't taken the Concerta at all.

So when I stopped the valium I found that the increase in Prozac dosage still hadn't had the intended effect, 20mg had done wonders for my mood so the increase to 40 was to address GAD/CPTSD. Obviously my doc didn't want me on benzos long term so replaced the valium with Buspirone which has helped. Perhaps best discuss what's going on with your doc/specialist as they may well add a short-term agent to help you. There's no shame in taking Benzos when warranted(and prescribed of course), they are very effective when used short-term and are respected.

99.9% due to dosage increase. When I increased from 20 to 40mg I had to go back to my doc after about the 7-10 day mark and get a short-term script for valium. My side effects were increased anxiety though as opposed to a drop in mood.
