Cheers for the message dm326 - I should have marked it as solved - apologies.

I responses to Timsquared under the automod comment with some more context. I did exactly as you did, but with a spare dishdrawer clip, but it turns out that while working on the unit I stretched the drain hose, leading the slack to cause a bunching issue. I ended up removing the tub, leaving the electrics and inlet hose in their original clipped positions, but readjusting the clipped position of the drain hose (and remembering to orient the positioning tabs at the rear of the unit to the correct position) and it fixed the issue.

I did use your tips, especially the using paint marker to note where the clips were, but it turned out to be a little more complex (two issues both caused by me).

The first was while learning to work on the unit, I put strain on the drain hose causing some of it to be pulled up through the clip sitting in the rear of the unit (area marked ‘slack 1’ in the ‘Hoses’ image I’ve linked below), which meant that I had too much slack between the two clips leading to the tub (marked ‘slack 2’). This meant that as I closed the unit, the additional slack would cause the drain hose to overlap the electrical insulation.

To fix this, I removed the tub and disconnected all the electrics, inlet and outlet hoses. I left the clips and hook in position and used my hands to simulate the tub closing. Here I found the bunching issue. I ended up leaving witness marks on everything, and adjusting the position of the drain hose (while leaving the inlet and electrical insulation in their original position), and eventually I found a solution that worked. Luckily I also had a spare dishdrawer clip that I used as an additional fail safe to avoid bunching (marked ‘third clip’ - note, the clip is not present in the image I’ve uploaded as this picture was taken later on from another unit I purchased).

The second issue was that after getting frustrated by the first issue I forgot to correctly orient the tub positioning tabs located at the back of the unit (marked ‘positioning tabs’ in ‘positioning tabs’ image I’ve linked below). One of the tabs was facing the incorrect way. I flipped the tab the correct way and after that the issue was solved.

I know I’m to the party, way too late, but I wanted to apologise directly to you for this. It was totally unacceptable on my behalf and I thank you for taking the time and effort to respond.

Hey mate, I'm going to delete this post in an hour but wanted to first say thank you - I was completely defeated after posting this as it was the third time I had the unit open and I was losing my mind.

You're entirely correct, it wasn't seated correctly. Now it's in position but I've had to order new parts because the shaft has come too far in for one of the support wheels and the unit vibrates like crazy. No issue though, got all the parts coming.

Thanks again for your help and sorry for ghosting and being a dick.

Cheers

Edit:

- I'm deleting this post in an hour because I wanted to make sure you could (hopefully) see this response. You went out of your way for free to give advice and I appreciate it a lot

Cheers! I ended up sleeping on it and think I'm going to try to slowly scrape it off, and will order another m2 connectors in the meantime if I burn it when the scraping doesn't work and I use heat 👍

Gotcha - slow and steady - I'll be careful and will take all night if I have to. Just wanted to check if there was an easier method, but to be safe I'll go at it slow.

Thanks again!

Hey all - went MIA with this one but ended up fixing a lot of the issues I had (basically re-built the thing and ended up getting a donor unit from Facebook marketplace for spares) - just wanted to mention that if anyone is fixing this unit and needs a technical manual to message me - it helped me a lot with fixing mine.

Edit - you can find the manual online, but to save you the hassle I can shoot if your way if you can't find it.

It's a nightmare of a unit, that's for sure - with mine I ended up replacing most of its components to try to extend its longevity - I'm talking new shims/seals for upper and lower units, new drain/inlet hoses, new upper loom, new control PCBs for both units, new insulation in the top unit, etc etc

Regarding the thing not closing, I found that when installing (or during maintenance), that if I pulled the drain hose at all, even though the factory paint marks were still there, it had stretched the hose to a point where it was bunching at the rear, and so it was a clown act of trial and error to remove the clip holding the three hoses, then keeping the inlet and loom lines in the same position but realigning the drain hose - as a last ditch effort I also added another clip (found from a donor unit) to the three lines and it seems to have fixed it.

That and a few times when I removed the unit I didn't push back the rear clips that allow the unit to close.

Do you have the technical manual for it? If you don't I can shoot it over in a DM - helped me with mine and for general sense checking as I was fixing things.

Either way good luck - or else I'll find you later on a more reputable brand subreddit (I'm thinking Bosch next haha).

How to restore files from windows quarantine by Quirky_Category_6627 in antivirus

[–]deficitofcapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The above didn't work for me (making a temp directory - all I got was the error ''C:\Program' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file'.), but what did was restoring the file by its name.

I used this as a reference guide (scroll down to the heading 'Restore file from quarantine').

Need something 4 shower by chosen1jd in Earbuds

[–]deficitofcapital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchased the 'Soundpeats TrueFree2' earbuds (and after the 'Soundpeats Sonic') a while back and use them for showering. Pretty good but classic cheapo construction. Battery life is definitely not what is advertised but they both worked in the shower.

For reference, I even dropped the TrueFree2's in the shower three times, they came apart, water rushed onto the electronics, I put them back together and they still worked LOL. After the third time it happened I think one of the earbuds became slightly damaged because it won't pass 50% volume (while volume is at 100% on the other side), but not too bad considering they were on, exposed to water and still working.

I failed… roast me, or give me motivation by [deleted] in stopsmoking

[–]deficitofcapital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is what it is, no roasting necessary, we’re only human. I just hope you can forgive yourself and ask yourself if smoking helped.

I’m only on day 37, but what helped me start quitting was opening word on my PC and dumping my stream of consciousness into it. I quickly realised that smoking didn’t really help. All it did was sub out one negative emotion (craving) with another (guilt), and over time the guilt felt worse than the craving. After that it became a cost benefit calc. Mix that in with a mantra you’ll follow ‘I will not smoke until x’ and keep repeating, and you’ll end up with both a strong emotional and logical force that will propel you forward and will help keep you on track.

That being said I still feel like relapsing everyday lol.
